I really like your tutorials. Marvelous Designer doesn't have as many tutorials as I would have hoped but your instructions are clean, precise and easy to follow. You also have a really nice voice! Thanks

Hello CG Elves, thank you for your amazing videos , I wonder if we can to export that zippers to another 3D program, if you can explain it, it will be appreciated, thank you very much :)

Hi Ger! Thanks, glad to hear you're enjoying my tutorials! :) I don't know how to work with too many other programs, but I believe you can simply export the garment and it will export it with the zippers. At least for Sansar that's how it works. Cheers, Camille

yeah I you can export but hace to be carefull polygon count as well normally piping, buttons zippers, contains huge amount of polygons i happen to export a garment mesh at 10 particle distance and polycount was 87k. and when exported along with, buttons and pipings and intricate stuff like that it became above 130k. so i had no choice but baked those details to normal map and diffuse textures...

why is my right side of the zipper line inverted? how do i reverse just one side of the zipper line?
@sanialdesign26746 жыл бұрын
Hello, I Searched everywhere how to solve a problem with the zipper : when I zip two completly separates patterns,it works.However, when you are trying to fake a zipper line , the zipper goes UNDER the garment.I troubleshooted it for one entire day and i found out that the zippers works fine at theses moments : in the first case i described two separates patterns, the same pattern if you have a hole, the same pattern IF YOUR LAYERS UNDER THE ZIP ARE AT 0 . I insist there, because my garments had multiple layers, and therefore it neverworked, until I found out that the zipper simulates well only if the garment behind him is set at 0 value. Hope that will help some people ! nice tutorials btw !

Hi Sanial Design! Sorry to hear you were having troubles with the zipper and thanks for sharing your experience! Allow me to add, if you're working with many layers, set only the very bottom layer to 0 and set each layer bavoe the bottom layer to a higher number (1, 2, 3, 4 etc.). If you have many layers under your zipper, setting them all to 0 is not recommended since it will likely cause simulation issues. Best to set the layers to 0, 1, 2, 3 etc. and set the zipper to the highest number. Cheers!
