❤️I came back here to add more than just a little heart. Just wanted to add like others here that Mambo is a joy to watch and hear about. I love the story of him being brought back by the carers after three days in the wild and Lundi punishing him with a few blows of her trunk. I laugh every time I think about it.😁

This just came up in my feed from may 6, 2020. It's now May 24, 2021! I think this is an absolutely adorable film of Mambo when he was an adorable baby so full of life, spunk, and vigor! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had to laugh when he was playing in the puddle when he was older and how he kicked out that back right leg. Did anybody notice he did that same exact thing in the opening scene as a baby? Now I see him grown into a majestic big beautiful gentle giant. Thank you for this film. Love learning their life stories. ❤🐘

This herd is a little different in that its made up mostly of orphans and most of them are not blood related. They are deeply bonded by their similar pasts and have not yet showed interest in leaving the herd. Should the younger bulls (Mambo and Zindoga) show interest in this, we'll certainly take steps to accommodate them! :)

TDD Different herds don’t mix in the wild. Each herd keeps to itself and doesn’t welcome anyone else to join.

@Dawn taylor I didn't think the males had anyone not even lions. Who would go up against a grown bull elephant. The males don't join a herd anyway they travel alone. So it must be another reason that the adult bulls stay within the herd, because they sure don't in the wild. In fact they are kicked out of the herd when they mature, because they can't mate with their female family members. I would like too know the answer too this question too!

If so since the HERD's females can't come into season are those males allowed too. mate with wild Elephants? Or are they like the females in the HERD put on something too keep them from going into musk

Theres another video that explains that they were all hand reared and used for elephant rides so although they wanted to release them originally they were all too used to humans being around them and so they have stayed with the team for protection, hope this helps x
