Hello, I'm a little confused. Here I have some question after this tutorial maybe you can help me. 1. What's the difference between modular configurator and those garment inside the library? Is it having something special function? 2. Is modular frame that gray piece? I saw you just delete it, make me totally can't understand what's the meaning of that. 3. When you change pose, what's the difference between pose only and pose+joint translation? 4. What's the purpose of tack in 3D garment window? Can I just dart in 2D pattern window only? 5. Why should dart avoid apex on the avatar?

1. Within the Modular mode Male,female, kid groupings - the parts of the garment are interchangeable such as collars and sleeve styles. Where as the garments under the garment tab are just the garment files and they don't have the interchangeable parts. 2. Yes, it is the grey area. The frame indicates these patterns are created from modular mode. we will touch on how to use them in a later video to create custom modular groups and patterns. 3. Pose only - does not move the existing avatar's joints - so any clothes are ignored when the pose is changed. Pose with joint transition - moves the joints step by step WITH the simulation on so the garment moves with the avatar. 4. Tack in 3D is widely used for multiple purposes from creating specific wrinkles for baking to using them as a real garment maker would pins on a dress. yes you can just ignore tacks and make your dart without them. its up to you how you want to problem solve a garment. 5. It is only recommended for pattern fitting, it will make a sharp point on the apex otherwise which is often not desirable. If you look at a pattern drafting book you will get more in-depth information as to why.

@@Marvelousdesigner Thanks for the reply, most of my problem kind of solved. Because I'm totally new to this software, I think I'll figure out the rest of them afterward.

so can I import 2 modular at the same time( for layering clothing like a T-Shirt and a jacket that are premade), without getting its replaced whenever I import the second modular.
@Marvelousdesigner4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can; but you must first remove the modular frames from the 1st garment (right-click 2D window and select "delete modular relationship" once that first instance is deleted then you can bring in the next modular garment. (otherwise, as you may have experienced it will just replace them if you are working in the same "instance" of modular blocks)

Hi .. how are you getting the waist and bust lines to show in the 2D and 3D windows?
@Marvelousdesigner Жыл бұрын
unfortunately this is an older version that had baselines that left after this version, they no longer are in Marvelous Designer. but they are an option in CLO now

@@Marvelousdesigner What a pity ... but thank you for your prompt reply ;)
@Marvelousdesigner Жыл бұрын
@@martignymuse7848 unfortunately the average user doesnt need baselines for measurement points, while CLO/ fashion users do. so if you find them necessary: look into clo for the features focused towards the fashion industry

Hello! I am going through tutorials and modular clothing shows up behind the avatar for some reason? Do you know if there is a fix for this? it's like it's reading the center wrong :(
@Marvelousdesigner3 жыл бұрын
the original 0 location was in a diffferent place this is because of the version change, we are aware of this issue and are fixing it. The current recommended fix is to select all with CTRL+A and use the gizmo in the 3D window to move the modular pieces/ garment slightly forward on the avatar.

Had the same problem, I followed the steps until the second pose, then I moved the garment to fit it better and then space bar it worked :D
