Salaamun Alaykum. Alhamdulillahh, Syukran for presenting the topic. A short, sweet but yet very profound and definitely something every Mu'min should know. The earliest to understand it, the better. I am very happy that now we know with evidence from the Qur'an what "Allahh" means, and it is a noun (a descriptor) and NOT a name. In a way it ties everything together with regards to our belief. What we believe in, how we position our devotion and how we establish and develop our personal and exclusive relationship (and) communication with our creator, our Lord (Rabb). To know a person, it is not enough to merely know him or her by name. It doesn't mean anything. Especially, if just uttering the name. We need to be with the person, not just once but as much as possible in order to really know and understand the person. In the case of believing in our "One Deity" (Illahh) we only have the Qur'an to help us to learn, understand, then convince us, eventually and hopefully with 'Certainty'. Only then the Rabb in our mind or Weltanschauung (عarsh) will be "The One Deity" or "Allahh" of ours (or mine). My "Allahh" from what I understand (and continually reinforcing) with respect to the attributes, the Deen, the Mulk, the source of Nuur, the guidance etc. is unique to my own. To me it is fundamental in our 'Aqeedah' and thus very essential to learn and understand the Qur'an. Otherwise, it will be only opinions and worst of all we will be succumbing to the act of Syirik if we try to understand and follow other versions of 'Illahh' from another person, imaam, scholars or ustazs and especially those who do not know the Qur'anic evidence-based knowledge (the عilm). Jazakallahu Khair Dr Hany for sharing. رَبَّنَا أَرْبِطْ عَلَى قُلُوبِنَا وَثَبِّتَ أَقْدَامَنَا "Our lord! Strengthen our resolve, and steady our steps!" Looking forward to the next segment. May the path towards it be uninterrupted and smooth, إن شاء الله

The Quran does not prove Allahh. The Quran offers the logical proofs that can be understood when our creator provides each one of us with the understanding. Meaning Allahh can use the Quran to provide evidence and proof (without a doubt), that Allahh is the truth, but only if each one of us seeks it. Salaamun alykoum.

Dr Hani, though decency and morality are the highest form of practice in our religion, many I ask you a fundamental question that lingers in my cognitive awareness. This week, in Syria high ranking leaders from Europe led by the foreign minister of Germany and France met the new leader of Syria. The Syrian leader did not greet Germany foreign minister by handshake because she was a female. Are there religious doctrine for a Muslim not to greet female counterparts ?
@MarvelousQuran15 күн бұрын
First, these issues are not a priority for our channel. Second, based on the Traditional accounts, Muhammad SAWS used to allow some women to hold his hand. More than that, Muhammad SAWS sometimes would visit some women in their homes. We are not bound to what 'they' consider acceptable or unacceptable. Their own sensitivities or biases do not represent the Quran.
@Serene-Solace445513 күн бұрын
I don't wager, but I can make an exception that the reason this German foreign minster went all the way to Syria is just to make this silly point. Notwithstanding the spectacles of the visit, It's laughable when knowing where this non-issue issue (handshake women) came from.

@jostnamane3951Ай бұрын
Yes. Most people are doing it while being unaware of it, Some people are doing it while being aware of it but they willingly 'choose' to ignore it, a few people are actively trying to fight their preconceived inclinations about anything (A.K.A their GOD), sometimes they succeed and sometimes they do not. And a very small minority of people are successful in eliminating "most" of their preconceived inclinations (not all of the inclinations because we as humans are still fallible). And this is applicable in all aspects of our daily life, including even a single word that we utter somewhere someday that is based on conceited opinion. GOD in the Qur'an talks about this in more than one verse i.e. [6:116], [12:103], [12:106].

"Allâh" is the word used for God in Arabic. The word „Allâh“ cognates in many Semitic languages. The corresponding Aramaic form is Alah (אלה), but its emphatic state is Alaha (אלהא). It is written as ܐܠܗܐ - Ĕlāhā in Biblical Aramaic and ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ (Alâhâ) in Syriac and Ēl in Canaanite. The name Allal (or Ellil) is to be found in the Epic of Atrahasis (or Atramhasis) engraved on several tablets dating back to around 1700 BC in Babylon. This shows that a Deity Allal was being worshipped since ages. (Stephanie Dalley, Myths from Mesopotamia: Creation, the Flood, Gilgamesh and others, Oxford University Press: 1989, Pages: 3-10). Many inscriptions containing the name „Allâh“ have been discovered in Northern and Southern Arabia as early as the 15th century BC., including Lihyanitic, Thamûdic and other South Arabian inscriptions (F. V. Winnett, A Study of the Lihyanite and Thamudic Inscriptions; Toronto: 1937, Page 30). From Nabataean inscriptions, we know that “Allâh” was regarded as the "High and Main God". The word “Allâh” is not a construction of al-ilâh as some people think, but an independent word. The word „Allâh“ is jâmid that means it is neither derived from any other word nor has it any root. The first letters „All (الٌ)“ in „Allâh“ are an integral, inseparable part of the word. They do not denote the definite article „al (ال)“ of Arabic, which is equivalent to the English „the“. Renowned scholars of the Arabic language including Sibwaih, the famous grammarian, and Khalîl, the respected linguistic, confirm that „All (الٌ)“ in the beginning of the word „Allâh“ is inseparable from it. If „All الٌ“ in „Allâh“ were an additional prefix, the common exclamation „Yâ Allâh“, („O Allâh“), would not be permitted according to the rules of Arabic grammar, as the form Yâ al-ilâh or Yâ al-Rahmân, Yâ al-Rahîm would be grammatically incorrect. Moreover, this supposition would mean that there were different gods - âlihah (plural of ilâh), one of which became gradually known as al-Ilâh and was then contracted into Allâh. This supposition is not correct. The word „Allâh“ is a simple substantive, a proper name, not derived from any other word. In contrast, the word deity is applied to any religious object of worship. The word „god“ was originally used to refer to pagan deities of the Nordic nations. It has a plural and both a masculine and feminine form, therefore this word cannot strictly and properly satisfy the monotheistic requirements of a deity. Unlike the word „god“, „Allâh“ has no plural, masculine or feminine form, and is never used for any other object or being (19:65). It is a substantive name, neither attributive nor descriptive. It has no parallel or equivalent in any other language.

It is no longer surprising the level of ignorance among traditional Muslims, the opponents are clearly do not understand the concept or they are just trolls. Essentially they are saying something the Christians do; naming their God. Attributing Allah a name by treating it as such, similar to Christians when they call him (most often) Jesus.
