I'm 45 and caught almost all of these in syndication.I don't recall ever seeing a few of them, but this video brought back a lot of memories. I loved these cartoons as a kid and recently introduced my oldest nephew to Popeye and Loony Tunes. He was as entranced seeing it for the first time as I was for the nostalgia. Tom & Jerry, Popeye, Hong Kong Phooey, and Road Runner and Wile E Coyote were my favorites.

A couple of years ago I made a suggestion to Netflix to create playlists like the ABC thursday night line up from 1980. Instead of binge watching one series, you could watch one Happy Days, one Laverne & Shirley, one Mork & Mindy, and whatever came after. But create playlists that were a sequence of various series. If they ever do it, they could apply the same thing to whatever cartoons they have as well.

Everyone knows Herculoids CLEARS! No mention of Shazzan? The genie with the camel named Kaboobie. Tho I did see them in Space Ghost segment. Alot of these were shown in syndication on Saturday mornings on the big three (ABC, NBC & CBS) in late 70's /early 80's either before or after the prime time slots. You had to be up by like 6:30 to catch Jonny Quest, Herculoids, & Shazzan. Great memories. Thanks so much!

When I was little, cartoons, super-heroes, comic-books, and various action figures were my very best friends. There is just no way that you can pull up all of the beloved and iconic cartoon characters, even within those three decades in one hour's time, - I mean there were literally thousands of them. Does anyone out there happen to remember which cartoon group the little character of Mush-Mouse belonged to ? The Hill-billy bears ? I swear, I could have done a similar feature about these cartoon characters, even from just 1950 through 1970, - but never in one single hour. And there is so much about them all that actually pre-dated the more familiar television runs and syndication. Girls seemed to prefer dolls and playing house in some way to cartoons I think. I bite my tongue, but boys had dolls too. But of course they were not called dolls, - but action figures. All I had were sisters, so I participated in mostly girls-type-play. Never bothered me. But I will share an interesting difference that I'll never forget. Of course Barbies were all the rage for the girls; I don't think I ever went that far however. I liked GI Joe, and toy soldiers, and I had a lot of them. Now, - when my sister's Barbie wanted a date, or wanted to get married, - 😐, or wanted any other 'liaison' 🥰🤪🥴 - ♥️💋👩‍❤️‍👨, - Barbie was NEVER interested in Ken, - her paramour always had to be one of my GI's. I will admit, those times my sisters and I would play house were so much fun, - I remember them vividly and very fondly. And kids are magnificent at being creative, we would play House and the like not just with dolls of any kind, but with stuffed animals, condiments, and even with all of our mother's different bottles of nail polish. We always had a great time. Saturday mornings were always the very best day of the whole week. Around I'd say, - between 6 AM and about noon. Daphne the witch, Hobo-Kelly, The New Zoo Review, Sheriff-John and Captain Kangaroo among others, were mostly children's programs that came a bit later. The Banana Splits, Lidsville, HR Puffinstuff and Sigmund the sea monster also showed up a bit after cartoon classics. Personally, I just never got into Bozo. Who remembers Kimba the white lion, or Gigantor ? How about Speed Racer. Did you have a favorite between - Magilla Gorilla, - Wally Gator, - and Peter Potamous ? Crazy I know, leaving a comment like this.

Dude,You aint crazy! Some of these cartoons were a staple for me. I also remember Tennesse Tuxedo, Roger Ramjet, Hector Heathcoat. There was a show I believe was called "Animal Crackers" that had characters based on cereals like Sugar Bear and some others that I can't quite remember right now. Between watching the video and reading your comment sent my mind reeling to those days of my youth! There was a cartoon about a secret agent (?) whose shadow would come to life and assist him.... I can't remember the title though. Thank you for your comment! 😀

That was indeed a warm hug from a gentler time. You missed a whole bunch of Sixties animations from the UK. Ivor The Engine was but one Smallfilms product: there were also Noggin The Nog, Pogles Wood, Bagpuss, and The Clangers. There was also Mary, Mungo, and Midge, and (in the Seventies) Crystal Tipps and Alastair. There may not be as many fun kids' shows from the Seventies, but you really need to do another video to showcase them, such as H R Pufnstuf, The Banana Splits, The Arabian Knights, the live action Jonny Quest, and the original Ghostbusters. Oh, and Filmation's other hits Fantastic Voyage and Star Trek: The Animated Series (which debuted 1973).

Thanks for the memories, I will not fault you for oversights as the cartoons in that aera were countless. I just wanted to add from Terry Toons TOM TERRIFIC with MIGHTY MANFREED and SYDNEY, THE ELEPHANT.... I wasn't too keen on Clutch Cargo, but Cambria's other hero SPACE ANGEL got my attention..... A very limited animation feature was the inter-galactic COLONEL BLEEP with Squeak the puppet and Scratch the Caveman......Bob Kane was credited as creating Batman (well, many say the real inventor was Bill Finger). Mr Kane came up with a Batman-like hero named COURAGEOUS CAT and his pal MINUTE MOUSE,.... The Rocky and Bullwinkle creators had a precursor duo, namely CRUSADER RABBIT and RAGS. THE TIGER...... After Rocky, they had a hilarious trio on ABC under the show title GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE. It was adopted to a "real life" movie in 1997. with Brandon Frazier, The other two notable cartons were TOM SLICK (who was a far more entertaining race car driver than Speed Racer) and Henry Henhouse the Third's alter ego SUPERCHICKEN..... Astro Boy was followed years later by GIGANTOR,. the huge he space-age robot. He looked too similar to an Egyptian robot villain in Astro Boy, They also had KIMBA, THE WHITE LION. I can't really say the this cartoon was in the weekends, I remember it as Monday to Friday, There was also talk about Walt Disney ripping off Kimba's characters to make Simba and the the Lion King movie in 1994.

Fred Flintstone's pet Dinosaur is named DINO (DEE-NO) not (DINE-O) if you've ever watched the cartoons you'd know this. In Dino's first appearance, Dino would often break the fourth wall, and talk to the audience. Also I don't know if you know this, but the Flintstones was very similar to The Honeymooners TV show. Fred being Ralph Kramden(Jackie Gleason), and Barney being Ed Norton(Art Carney) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Honeymooners

Fred's dinosaur named " Deeno" . In the Space Ghost cartoon one of the voices was done by " Johnny Carson"- not sure if he iand the talk show host are one and the same. Danny Hutton of 3 Dog Night wrote Rock songs for Hanna Barbara for use in The Flintstones! No titles known. Who remembers Tony Curtstone? Ralph Baski drew for Heckle and Jeckle cartoon- at one time An episode breif segment is shown during the final end of " Kill Bill" No mention of " Gigantor", " " Jerry Lewis". " Moby Dick"( played after " King Kong") " "Jackson Five" " The Beatles", " The Beagles"" Dick Tracy"( the wristwatch pretty much inspired Face Time)" Top Cat" " Hercules" Merry Marvel Marching Society"( which featured separately" The Hulk", " Iron Man", " Thor" maybe "Fantastic Four"), " Spiderman"( possibly during the week after school?)

I watched 100per cent of these cartoons I did not miss out on being a kid , I think my favorite animated cartoon may have to go too Space Ghost . Speed Racer was probably my next.😅 At the time I was a real adventure type of kid so one of my favorite shows was the Banana Splits hour witch had a Mark Twain based show New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Golly I was swept away with the BSshow .😮 I watched hero and monster shows Ultraman and Godzilla and King Kong.😮 As for any other shows nothing got passed by me I kept pace with all these cartoons , I was big with Syfy shows. like Lost in Spa ce and StarTrek.😅
