Trakeena really had a the potential for a redemption arc. It wasn’t until she and Deviot fused that any good was gone. Sure she became the dominant persona, but inherited most of Deviot’s qualities.

Just my opinion, but I personally found Deviot to be the "true" main villain of Lost Galaxy. He set so many things into motion and had been using everyone around him, including Trakeena and her father. He even had a transformation that wiped the floor with the Rangers in their more powerful states at one point. I was honestly surprised and a little disappointed that he wasn't the final threat, instead giving that to Trakeena, who I felt didn't really become a true threat until the very end. Even then that was _after_ she and Deviot "fused", so would that be more or _less_ credit to her as a villain? Ehh... For me, Deviot was the main villain of that season.

I mean, pretty much everything involving Darkonda was dark (Barillian Bug body horror, doctor Darkonda cybernetically modifying Ecliptor, the fact he kidnapped a child and the fact he was very difficult to get rid of), the Psycho Rangers basically forcing the Space Rangers into exile due to knowing everything about them on top of their massive power. Lost Galaxy was probably more controversial in retrospect given the fact Deviot Trakeena turned her Stingwingers into suicide bombers and how that got past censorship after 9/11 in rebroadcasts is a little baffling. Even the earlier MMPR where Rita tried to kill people (drugging a pilot while Kim is on a plane with Bulk and Skull, the whole bus thing in the Green with Evil 5 parter). A lot of that stuff wouldn't fly today for a kid's show that's for sure.

They’re used over props, though now that you’ve mention it, PR Lost Galaxy those have some similar themes with Starship Troopers, mainly the villains being bug themed with Scorpius being like the Brain Bug, the Stingwingers being like Warrior Bugs, and Trakeena having a bug outfit and then turning into a bug monster latter on.

In an episode of lost galaxy, while prisoner in the sun, Leo asked Damon who was the worst of the villains they faced “Scorpius, Trakeena, or this Mutiny Guy?” They faced Trakeena a bunch especially in the finale, and then again in lightspeed rescue. Then in Dino Thunder when Tommy had his history of power rangers video, he only mentioned Trakeena, no one else. He called her their mortal enemy. That said, I’d say it was Trakeena.
