I loved Zedd when he had his run on MMPR, season 2, but wasnt too crazy about his goofier attitude during the third season. It felt like they took away what made him a very threatening character. Then again I remember reading something a while ago that there were complaints about him being such a dark character for a kids series. That was what made him an interesting character. Not everyone or everything has to be goofy, otherwise the interest in them just wanes as they go.

I'm still trying to figure out what the original effect for his voice is. It sounds sort of like a flanger, but I haven't been able to reproduce it and I don't know what sort of system was used back then. In-universe I'm guessing it's his mask that does that to his voice, but there were times when it wasn't there or very light.

I always thought he look good and cool, it was horrible that he was missing his skin but they made it work he looks like a true main villain should have to look like, to be honest after Zedd all the other main villains look goofy and underwhelming and I mean the main villains and every PR enemy, that said the reason he lost his skin is lame, you would think that he had plenty of time to recover and restore his original look given the explanation, I imagine other reasons he look the way he does, like a curse or something else that kept him from recovering when you look at his power or that he recently lost his skin in some battle, but simply because it was burned? the guy is thousands of years old that more than enough time to recover.
