I AM STILL INTO SOUL......MARVIN, SAM, TEDDY, LUTHER, AL AND IT GOES ON....BIGGIE, TUPAC......IN HONOR OF ALL THESE GREAT MUSIC LEADERS IN MY LIFE AND OH MICHAEL, PRINCE....YOU HAVE TOUCHED MY SOUL.....LENNY...the list just goes on.....but Motown days....6-61 still strong in my soul music. My mother 15 years older than me every Saturday SOULLLL TRAIN....miss you Don C...❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋💋💋

Marvin Gaye's is the artist that I most identify with. I tried emulate his music earlier in my life. This brother was so sensual... His Music did provide sexual healing for many of us during lovemaking The first time I made love, "I want You" was playing on my cassette deck. His music helped me, and HEALED during some very trying times...... These songs are dedicated to Nicci. Girl you were my first love I think of you often....Thank You for allowing me in your life

Can you imagine the music we would have heard and would have been sitting back reminiscing to if Marvin was still alive today? Can you imagine the classics he would have produced? He was taken from us way, way too soon!

Rosalind Kellum I know it by heart....and so many of his songs. DISTANT LOVER....IN THE TOWN I AM IN....THEY SAY, THERE IS THAT WHITE CHIC BLASTING HER SOUL......I DRIVE DOWN STREETS PEOPLE SITTING ON THE PORCH FAMIKY IN THE YARD I STOP, HELLO ITS A MARVIN DAY AND I TURN IT UP,AND THEY DANCE AND MOVE AND SMILE. I WAS IN A TOWN AND TWO ELDERLY HOMELESS MEN SITTING ON THE BENCH RESTING AT WALGREENS...CLOUDY I KNEW THEY HAD TO BE HUNRY AND NEED SOMETHING TO DRINK AND OF COUSE A CIGARETTE TO MAKE IT COMPLETE I TOOK THEM FOID, MY HEART AS I SEE NO COLOR HAS ALWAYS SINCE CHILDHOOD WAS TO HELP THE BLACK ELDERLY, IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK THE DELANEY SISTERS PLEASE YOU WILL LOVE IT AND I TOOK THE FOOD I SAID ITS OK IT FOR YOU AND THE TEAR IN ONES EYE AND THEN AFTER THEY AT BECAUSE INWAS IN MY CAR I PUT THE WINDOW DOWN AND PUT ON MARVIN GAYE AND I SAID IT IS MARVIN TIME....I OPENED MY DOIRS GOT OUT AND WE DANCED NO ONE BOTHERED US AND US THREE HAD NOT ONE CARE IN THE WORLD AT THAT TIME....IT STARTED SPRINKLING AND WE STILL WERE DANCING YES THEY WERE AT TAD SLOWER THEY WERE OLDER AND NO ONE CAME OUT OF THAT STORE TO STOP US. IN THAT PRECIOUS TIME WITH THOSE GENTLEMEN THAT WANTED A BETTER LIFE I COULD NOT GIVE THEM I AM DISABLED BUT FOR THOSE FEW HOURS WE LIVED. WHEN I HAD TO GO THEY HUGGED ME FOR WHAT INDID FOR THEM AD AS I AM WRITING NOW THEN THE TEARS POURED OUT OF MY EYES AND SAID NO I SHOWED YOU LOVE BUT WHAT YOU GAVE ME WAS FAR MORE THAN I GAVE YOU. BEING ALONE IS TOUGH A SON THAT DOES NOT CARE FOR ME AND I WAS GOING BLIND....I DID NOT KNOW THAT AT THE TIME BUT THAT DAY AS MUCH AS THEY WERE GRATEFUL THEY GAVE ME FAR MORE IN MY HEART AND THAT IS WHAT INSAID.....NO YOU TOUCHED MY LIFE TODAY AND I AM GOING TOMTRY AND LIVE AGAIN. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL TIME AND I DROVE AWAY KNOWING YJEY WERE NOT HUNGRY. I WILL GO BACK THAT WAY ONE DAY I HOPE AND I WILL LOOK FOR THEM. I AM GLAD. THEY HAD EACH OTHER. I DID NOT MEAN TO COME TO YOUR PLACE HERE I JUST WANTED TO SHARE IF WE DO NOT LOVE WE HAVE NOTHING. I WOULD NOT TRADE THAT DAY FOR ANYTHING IN THE WORLD. I SURPRISED THEM BUT THERE WEATHERED FACE AND THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO TAKE ME AND I GOT THE FOOD AND ETC THEY SMILED I KNOW THEY WONDERED WHO IS THIS WHITE CHICK BUT I AM NOT WHITE I MAY LOOK WHITE BUT I AM A MIXTURE OF ALL,COLORS. PEACE TO ALL.

For the very first tine, now that I know, I can hear Leon Ware singing in the background with Marvin. The "kindness" that Leon Ware exhibited to Marvin in letting him put that whole album out was- - -the way it was meant to be. Being the prolific songwriter that he is, i'm sure this wasn't the only song he gave away. They laid this mix out right. Have fun, Leon, singing your tunes, your way ! Congrats on the Award !

i like this because it has a jazzier influence as opposed to just throwing some synths or auto-beats or whatever people do these days... i think that its very fitting, especially since i believe that jazz and ballads was the direction mr.gaye really wanted to go in...nice job!

@Derricotte89T - I believe the musical style - in terms of rhythm - is classic early 60's Brazilian bossa nova (the most famous song of which is Girl From Ipanema written by Antonio Carlos Jobim, the most famous composer in the style) except it is sped up greatly. There are all sorts of bossa nova compilations that are great and easily found - the soundtrack for the film Next Stop Wonderland is superb.
