Number 1) this is my first animation (shock horror) I was mainly focusing on making the characters look like the characters in my style, that’s why the scenes are very similar to in the musical. It’s easier to work with references. The only reason I made this was to distract myself from my GCSE results day. Number 2) I love this song so much. I tried to make this similar to Marvin having a giddy seizure bc in trousers is a bop. Anyway I also wanted to say that SJB acting is sensational. The reason I think the 2016 revival version of this song is so effective is because of her. A slap doesn’t hurt as much as a punch or kick, it brings tears to your eyes, but you don’t start balling your eyes out. I think the way SJB handles it as Trina is so perfect because she’s not crying because of the slap, she’s crying because even though Marvin was manipulative, mean and emotionally abusive, he never hurt her. That’s why she’s in shock, and that’s why it works. Thank you for coming to my TED talk, none of my friends know what falsettos is so I can’t exactly tell them why I love this so much.
