Add ko lang sir Marvin, as a beginner, another way to determine one's risk tolerance is to relate it to their typical spending habits. For example, if on average they spend 2k a week/month for branded coffee or fancy meals then losing 2k in stocks can be tolerable psychologically since para ka lang nag coffee or kumain sa fancy resto as they normally do. Another example is if on average you spend 50k for a 2wk vacation out of town in a fancy hotel, then you won't mind investing 50k in a stock, just think of it as if you went on your vacation. I believe the reason people panic when seeing loses is if it goes beyond their comfortable spending limits. So for starters, the key would be keeping their position sizes relative to their spending habits. Then they can just scale it up as they level up as you mentioned in your video.

My strategy would be . . Divide 50k in to 4 and then look for prefered stocks na may quarterly dividends or 2 to 3 per year na dividend... that way mas safer siya while nag aaral ka mag trade...
