Cool video! Brings back lots of memories. That's the set I got for Christmas of 1960. THX

Just discovered your channel. I viewed some of the older videos and I’m glad you started narrating them. It seems you have quite a bit of knowledge on these sets. I had a mid sixties Battleground set with the firing 88 and howitzer. I had hours of fun with it but unfortunately it’s all gone. Whoever owns the house now is probably still digging up American and German toy soldiers in the back yard. Thanks for bringing back good memories.

I had a hard time deciding from the onset as to how to present the sets, I wanted initially for it to be a virtual museum type of experience but I’ve since decided to share some information that has taken me 30+ years to acquire. Let’s get our LED headband lights and a couple of shovels and go on a night time dig at your childhood home😂! Thanks for watching!

I was born in austin tx in 1952 and always wanted this but my Dad was transferred to CA who hardly knew of the Alamo..

I had this set. It felt like the tall-hat (shako) soldiers were a different scale (smaller figures) than the round-hat soldiers.

I like the earlier metal gate. That plastic one looked out of place.

Thanks for watching! I’ve already subbed to your channel and enjoy your videos as well! Plan on doing the 3681A Fort Apache set that you already covered in the near future.

I might have another video posted of the 70’s Sears Heritage Alamo. Thanks for watching!

@@greatesttoysevermade3693 Most of the parts in this video look the same to me. Probably a different mix of figues, and none in silver.

@@oldschoolfrp2326 Yes, the 70’s version was very similar to this set but it had three less cannons and no silver figures.

I had a set almost like this one but the gate was different and the Mexican soldiers were in a very dark blue. My guess it was an earlier version.

Was that your own personal place or did you purchase it? It looks as if it was made yesterday.
