It's "The Chosen's" portrayal of the human nature of Jesus that has attracted me so strongly to the programme. All too often, teachings have been overweighted towards His divine nature, so that we have failed to realise how human, like us, Jesus is.

@TexanIndependence7 ай бұрын
@@Kevin_Beach Says who? Many of those faults are because of sin and you are making terribly blasphemous assumptions. For example, Jesus never became sick, ever, in the Bible. And saying "God could suck at sports" for example, like the guy you are encouraging in such blasphemy (without ANY scriptural evidence). If God willed it, then Jesus could have been the greatest athlete of all time, just as God gave Sampson superhuman strength. Perhaps Jesus did not show these things because that's not WHY He came again. And Jesus existed BEFORE being born in Bethlehem. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." Jesus CREATED the Earth, Jesus WALKED the Earth long before Mary, who carried him as a surrogate (God did not procreate with Mary like the Romans mixed their pagan Zeus-style beliefs into our faith, she was not his "mother" she was his surrogate, hence why Jesus never once called her mother in the Bible, always "woman" and even when told "Your mother and brother are here" rejected it, saying "Who is my mother?" and then "My true brother and sister and mother are those who do what my Father in heaven wants", the only time Jesus EVER referred to her that way was to say to John "behold THY mother", aka YOUR mother, which was a tradition to look after a widow, never ONCE did He say she was His mother). Jesus was of the Order of Melchizedek, He was in the fire with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He walked with Abraham to the hill along with two angels, before sending those angels to destroy Sod0m & Gomorrah. But people want to humanize so much and remove the divinity from Him just to make Him more "relatable". It's totally wrong. Adding so much to the Bible that was not there, remember Jesus said that people who do that. "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book: If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book." - Jesus Christ, Revelations 22:18 Be VERY careful before you start adding things to the Bible that were not there and impugning the divinity of the Logos, the Word that CREATED THE WORLD 6 billion years before Mary took a breath. Jesus existed LONG before Mary. Remember, Adam and Eve were walking with God face-to-face in the Garden, yet Jesus says that NO ONE has ever seen the face of the Father. So whose face did Adam and Eve look upon? Who did Moses? Who did Abraham (the Lord appeared to him in Mamre with two Angels and Abraham bowed down)? Jesus Himself answered it when they mocked him, saying "You are not yet fifty years old, and you have seen Abraham?!" --- REMEMBER JESUS REPLY: "Before Abraham Was, I Am". Jesus existed BEFORE Abraham and SPOKE with Him. Jesus IS God. Repent of your mockery and false assumptions!

@@severinesds Grace does not mean sinless. Grace is given by God to sinners. We are saved by grace. That is what the Bible says. Another way of saying Mary is full of Grace would be saying she is full of God's mercy. She was never sin-free. 1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. Romans 3:10 As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; Ecclesiastes 7:20 Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins. Jerome was mistaken. Grace was given to Mary when He chose her. She was never sin-free. She never appeared to Bernadette and said that. There was no immaculate conception. Why because that goes against everything in the Bible. If she was born sin-free then she could have died on the cross for our sins but that never happened did it. Jesus never said she was sin-free. He was God incarnate and not her. She cannot heal anyone. She is in heaven and humans in heaven cannot communicate with the living on earth.

This is the scene that did it for me. I grew up Catholic and attended Catholic schools, but I fell away from God in the years since. I had seen some of the episodes from seasons 1-3 and enjoyed them, but it was the moment Jesus says "also human" that hit like a ton of bricks. KNOWING He was 100% human as well as 100% Divine is so much different than knowing it. The frustration he expresses here is so eye opening. We're so used to seeing Him portrayed with overwhelmingly heavy doses of divinity in other projects. Y'all have balanced the two elements perfectly. There's something inside us - the soul maybe?- that recognizes how accurately the essence of Jesus Himself is captured in Jonathan's portrayal. It has renewed my faith, and I'm so grateful to y'all for that.

That is so true that Jesus is both divine AND human. I am happy that this scene spoke to you and renewed your faith in God. Keep seeking Him, if you take 1 step towards Him, He'll take 10 steps towards you. Jesus said "If you have faith as little as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there', and it will be done." Remember by our own strength we cannot be holy (Romans 3:23), it is only by God's Spirit that we can (Ezekiel 36:26-27), rather than looking at how great your sins are, and how much of a "mistake" you are (you're not), look at how great God is and the way HE thinks of you. He loves you and He only wants what's best for you. The reason God made the Commandments, wasn't to dictate us, but to show us how much we need Him. I need Him, you need Him, even people like Moses needed God. Jesus was human, He understands our struggles as He struggled to, and He got through it, so we can as well! We can't get rid of our struggles, but we can get through them in a more positive way, what better way than to let God guide us during them? God is Light, He is the positivity during those dark times. So let's focus on Him, and open our hearts to let Him change us for who we are meant to be. God bless, I pray this blesses you in Jesus name

I love the way The Chosen gives us these glimpses into what Jesus and Mary's must've been like from the mother and son perspective. Because some people tend forget this was a real thing too. While also maintaining the fact that He is GOD. They had to strike the right balance. In the midst of Mary watching Jesus grow from a boy to a man. Talk abouy the beauty and complexity of being the earthly mother of Jesus. The Father knew her heart and how capable she was. Happy Mother's day to all the amazing moms out there

@@Powerranger-le4up bro Jesus is disparaging his mother in the Bible. John 2:1-5 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” 4 “Woman,[a] why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” and Matthew 12:46-48 While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. 47 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.” 48 He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Mary doesn't have anything to do with Jesus Christ so you cannot say I am a bad defender of Christ, if I say something about Mary that is not Christ.

What a beautiful Mother's Day present from The Chosen ❤ How often do a mother and child share this close of a relationship? And, the Blessed Mother had a disadvantage - her son was the Son of God; Our Lord. My mom passed 42 years ago. Since none of the 5 of us came nearly as close to being as good as Jesus, she deserves the credit for the people we became. Missing her! 😢❤

“What will it take for them to understand” That line right there is more loaded then we realize. We can see it in Jesus’ face the moment she asks that, he knows exactly what it’ll take for it all to sink in. His death. His death to save all of us from sin & death by being crucified, is what will have them truly understand all of the teachings he provided for them, and us.
