Mary, Ark of the Covenant Old and New! “Daughter of Zion” fulfilled obedience to God.

Mary is the new Ark of the Covenant, because she kept within herself the Divine Presence of God. “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; according to his word.” Luke 1:38. Mary was the faithful “Daughter of Zion” who fulfilled the call of obedience requested by God to the Israelites.
Biblical TYPOLOGY prefiguring something that happened in the Old Testament and happens again in the New Testament:
OLD Over shadowed by the Cloud and the Glory. Ex 40:34
NEW Mary the Holy Spirit will overshadow you. Lk. 1:35
OLD Ark: over laid with pure gold inside and. Ex 25:11
NEW Mary: Virgin Mary full of grace. Lk 1:34
OLD David: How shall the ark come to me? 2 Sam. 6:9
NEW Elizabeth: that the mother of my lord comes to me? Lk. 1:43
OLD David leaping and dancing before the ark of the Lord. 2 Sam. 6:16
NEW Mary’s greeting, child leaped in her womb, Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Lk. 1:41
OLD The ark of the Lord remained in the house three months. 2 Sam. 6:11
NEW Mary remained with her about three months and then returned to her home. Lk. 1:56
CCC 697 Cloud and light. These two images occur together in the manifestations of the Holy Spirit. In the theophanies of the Old Testament, the cloud, now obscure, now luminous, reveals the living and saving God, while veiling the transcendence of his glory - with Moses on Mount Sinai, Ex 24:15-18 at the tent of meeting, Ex 33:9-10 and during the wandering in the desert, Ex 40:36-38; 1 Cor 10:1-2 and with Solomon at the dedication of the Temple. 1 Kings 8:10-12 In the Holy Spirit, Christ fulfills these figures. The Spirit comes upon the Virgin Mary and "overshadows" her, so that she might conceive and give birth to Jesus. Lk 1:35 On the mountain of Transfiguration, the Spirit in the "cloud came and overshadowed" Jesus, Moses and Elijah, Peter, James and John, and "a voice came out of the cloud, saying, 'This is my Son, my Chosen; listen to him!’" Lk 9:34-35 Finally, the cloud took Jesus out of the sight of the disciples on the day of his ascension and will reveal him as Son of man in glory on the day of his final coming. Genesis 3:15 Curse of the serpent who tempted Eve: “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” The special enmity or war between Mary’s seed (Jesus) and Satan.
Galatians 4:4-5 When the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.
Isaiah 7:14 a virgin or young woman who bears a child named Immanuel.
Micah 5:2-5 refers to a woman who gives birth to a messianic ruler.
Luke 1:28 Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Luke 1:32 Mary will conceive and bear a Son.
Luke 1:38 Mary said, yes, “Behold me, the handmaid of the Lord.”
Luke 1:42 Behold, Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Luke 1:43, 1:46-55 Mother of my Lord.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
Matthew 1:23 They shall call Him Emmanuel. GOD is with us.
John19:25, 26, 27 Jesus looking down from His cross on Calvary, he said, behold and honor Mother Mary.
Revelation 12:1 Mary Queen of Heaven, clothed with the sun and under her feet the moon. On Mary’s head a crown with twelve stars is found. The woman was Mary, mother of the Word, mother of the Incarnation, mother of Jesus, mother of God.
AD 431 Council of Ephesus Mary is the mother of the second person of the Blessed Trinity because neither the Father nor the Holy Spirit were incarnate. Therefore “If anyone does not confess that God is truly Emmanuel, and that on this account the Holy Virgin is the Mother of God (for according to the flesh she gave birth to the Word of God become flesh by birth), let him be anathema.”
