I look forward to at least 10 episodes on Fordyce's sermons. The production style of this video feels like a podcast of a podcast, you really nailed the formula. Well done! Mary really is the peanut gallery of P&P: always has an opinion at the ready! She would be the perfect podcaster... So many eye roll-y moments. I noted that the underlying piano soundtrack is pleasant, therefore can't have been played by Mary herself. I'm astounded that she allowed someone else's keyboard skills 'shine'

Brilliant video! Now I'm thinking of the other characters' preferred media... Kitty and Lydia: all over Instagram; Elizabeth: pert opinions and witty quips on Twitter; Mrs Bennet: Facebook rants; Jane and Bingley: cheerful, idyllic domestic vlogs on YT. Darcy doesn't use social media at all; he only has an e-mail for matters of business with his steward at Pemberley 😁
@estrella1252 жыл бұрын
This is a great summary. So true. I’m with Darcy. Well, I might check YT for the Bingley’s efforts since I have been on YT much more since I found Ellie Dashwood and her great channel. And I “like” all these positive comments about Mary’s podcasting. Super fun!
@AadenKDragon2 жыл бұрын
I imagine Darcy would follow Bingley, and later Jane, on YT because he does care but 1000% he ends up featured on Lizzies twitter all the damn time. I'm thinking in the style of the dad with 4 daughters: 7 yr old: do we have any ice cream? Me: yes 7: then why aren't we eating it right now? Me: ... Me: I have no idea ---- Or transcripted like from a TikTok. Maybe Lizzie creates a TikTok just to record certain moments cause he is a socially awkward rich person with almost no concept of how the average person lives. Me: I'm going to go get bananas Darcy: oh here I'll pay. I don't mind. "hands me a $100" Me: !!!?? Me: how much do you think bananas cost???? Darcy: .... I have a feeling if I say you'll either make fun or me or be mad at me.... "He's not wrong guys" ---- Bingley loves it cause he's also a rich person who has no concept if how the average person lives and uses these to get brownie points for doing better than Darcy.

She’s got such a great sense of humor, if I hadn’t already done so, I’d watch P&P movies to the point of memorization … just to get the full impact of her melodramatic wit. When Ellie, oops I mean when Mary delivers those iconic lines straight out of P&P, my day is made beautiful with laughter
@thebatmary59542 жыл бұрын
I always feel bad for Mary- maybe because we Mary’s gotta stick together- because she’s so blatantly and automatically overlooked as not as pretty as her sisters. If she were as beautiful as Lydia, for example, she’d have been considered far superior, which is not fair to them in particular and women in general. Mary tried so hard to make up for the perceived fault of not being beautiful that she tries to be distinctive any way she can. If her mom or dad or older sisters had bothered to give her proper instructions as to how to share her knowledge and act around people, she’d be fine!

This is wonderful! I had never thought much about Mary Bennet until I saw the 2005 Pride & Prejudice. Instead of the graceless pedant we'd come to expect, the adaptation and Talulah Riley's performance made her so much more sympathetic, with the pathetic, forlorn air of a girl who had no idea of how to act in society but keenly feeling the loss. I love this image of her, as if she'd finally found her right place and outlet.
