So many parents never get to have this conversation. Kids that use are so scared to tell their parents and ask for help over fear of retaliation. Some of them end up overdosing and dying. It’s a blessing for her and her son that she was able to have this conversation. This was so raw and emotional.

What a wonderful moment we witnessed between a Mother & Child. Mary returning F/T was the best thing for this season! The other "stale battling H/Ws" need to take notes from Mary. She handled this situation with class and diplomacy! Kudos! I saw a repeat of this moment & the impact it left me was more powerful than the first time. Now I need to give respect to Robert, Jr. He admitted to his problem, but moreover, he had the dignity to admit this in front of us, millions of viewers. This was a major step to his healing. Brilliant piece of TV for us to ponder, admire & appreciate. I hope we see his journey manifest into something special, positive & meaningful.

I’m a new mom. My little boy turns one in a few weeks. Having had 3 incredibly close people to me, all my age group, lost their lives to substance abuse, this very thing haunts my heart and mind of the great what if. This scene was incredibly raw. I know Ally Shapiro thinks this was not good for Robert Jr., and in a way I agree with what she’s saying, everyone will always know him as that kid. But my mom heart is so thankful this aired. It was helpful in understanding how beneficial an open dialogue relationship is. I pray Robert Jr. gets the help he needs to move forward with sobriety 🙏🏼
