'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' star Mary Cosby shares family updates with ET's Brice Sander at her home in Utah. Mary confirms she still has yet to speak to her own mother in more than two decades, as she celebrates her 26th wedding anniversary with husband Robert Cosby Sr. Their son, Robert Jr., is a major part of Mary's story in season 5 of the Bravo show; the trailer previews an emotional chat between the two, which served a turning point for the 21-year-old. Her showing her relationship with her mom is really helping me! I have a strained relationship with my mom and it’s so interesting to me to see someone like me be spontaneous, happy, optimistic and real with themselves. Similar to many only sons (no siblings), we (mothers) shelter them. They love the us being helicopter mom, but we have to cut the cord to allow them to grow independently. A day will come when they have to choose to be independent should we die before they do. I know Mary doesn't want to outlive her sone. She too has to prepare her son for real life.

Did you watch the show? Mary said her mother didn’t take care of her nor her brothers ever since they were little kids. So don’t pull that “she stopped talking to her after she married her step grandfather” she was not a fit mother from the start.

Also u have to look at it through an old persons lense. Back in the medieval times, it was common to marry family members and I guess they did it in the name and tradition of keeping their church and faith together which a lot of people before us did. U can’t look up your lineage but trust me mama things like that happen when it’s a faith/money involved
