I never really thought about the words to this song until a couple years ago and they really hit me to the core. That line, “When you kissed your little baby, you have kissed the face of God,” is one very powerful line in the song. It speaks such volume. We can’t even imagine holding baby Jesus in our arms but wow. I don’t know what Mary and Joseph were totally thinking but they had to marvel at the fact that they are looking at and holding their Savior in their arms. What an incredible moment that night. It made the angels shout aloud.

I just had a baby now and so this song totally speaks so much, when I hold baby and kiss my baby's face! Mary's boy was indeed the Lord of all creation.

I have also thought more in the words myself. While I still LOVE LOVE this song, it is almost dumb if you think of it. Of course she knew he walked with angels, she knew a lot of it because the Angel of God came to her. She knew this was EXTRA special from the beginning. That to me, is even more powerful of a thought than her maybe not knowing
