Fantastic review! Yeah - I think I would have to agree, the nostalgia for me means more for this movie than the movie for itself. If is a classic movie, no argument there, but agree it can be too drawn out in places and lets face it, its the music and Julie Andrews that make this movie what it is.

Thank you! Yeah, this seems to be one of those movies that gets ingrained in everybody at a young age so I think that certainly helps with the nostalgia and positive feelings most of us have for it.

@@MainelyMovies Absolutely agree! For me its memories of Christmas - I don't know what its like in the US but here in the UK they used to play it at nausea over the Chrstimas period (back when we only had 5 channels!).

Mary Poppins was fantastic because it reminded me that the world of children is different to the world of adults. Children are more hopeful, imaginative, and optimistic than adults. My favorite movies that features a nanny is ROMA (2018)

Agreed, it definitely presents both sides of that really well! Ah yes, very similar stories too 😂

Mary Poppins most certainly is one of the timeless Disney animated films where everyone has a good time, with solid characters, memorable scenes and fantastic score. Feed the birds definitely is the best song of the movie. 2018 sequel was entertaining doesn't have the magical charm, enriched musical feeling,of the predecessor still a good one watch.

Timeless is a great word for it. It's one of those movies that always had this older, cozy feel to it even in the 60s. I love the instrumental version of Feed the Birds that they use throughout the last act!

Mary Poppins is a film that me and my mother would watch all the time when I was a kid. We both went and seen Poppins returns and we both really enjoyed it. Great review and video.

Thank you! Agreed, this one is definitely a childhood classic for me. It's funny, I went to see Mary Poppins Returns with my dad when it was in theaters. I'll have a review for that one next week!

*Is Mary Poppins supercalifragilisticexpialidocious or do you need a spoonful of sugar to help this one go down?* Let me know in the comments below! 🔽

Awesome review Alyssa, Mary Poppins is simply supercalfragulisticexpealidotius and still my all time favourite live action Disney movie Walt Disney should be proud of this magical masterpiece he made. Julia Andrews is the one and only Mary Poppins, Dick Van Dike is also charming here and Jane and Michael are adorable kid characters, the animated sequences are some of my favourite in the movie and a spoon full of sugar is a motivational song for all kids to get jobs done. And it’s far superior to it’s underwhelming 2018 Sequel Mary Poppins Returns LOL. I’d give Mary Poppins 5 Stars Out Of 5!

Thanks, Harry. Yeah this one is definitely a fun one. So many good memories associated with it from my childhood. I've gotta disagree with you about the sequel being underwhelming, but that'll be a discussion for next Tuesday 😋

This is one of the best movies ever made. I disagree with this review. To each his own.

You love the movie and you disagree with my positive review of it? Don't quite understand that logic, but you do you. Glad you like the movie!
