Im a cradle catholic, but growing up i go to church regularly i pray the hail mary but got really board on praying the rosary. Just last year i joine a facebook bible study group where most protestant was a member, i wonder why they question Mary in Catholic faith, they think we worship her. In my heart i felt hurt that they regard her as a typical human being, but i cannot give a defense into their claims, so i come to a point that i question the Catholic church although i attend church and received the Eucharist. I question maybe i should change my church, i pray to God that He may help me find Christian community but it was not happening. Until there is some discussion in facebook page about Mary again, then i searched about an answer why we do what we do. And now I am more honored to be a member of the Catholic Church, Im still yet to know more about God’s love. But the idea of a family, that He gave Mary to us in idea of our Queen Mother, like what is a family whitout the completeness of its design. Now i honor Mary more and love Jesus and the Father more deeply and felt more home in Catholic Church…❤️🙏🏻

*REFLECTION CAPSULE FOR THE DAY - Aug 15, 2018 - Wednesday* *( _Based on the Feast of the Assumption of Blessed Mary & Independence Day of India_)* "Saare jahaan se acha!" ("Better than the entire world!") These were words, exclaimed by Rakesh Sharma - with a jubilant face and an excited voice - high up in the outer space. >> The first man to go up to space from India, was replying to the query by Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India, as to 'how the nation looked from the outer space'. "Saare jahaan mein acha!" ("Better than all in the entire world!") These were probably the Words, exclaimed by God - with a Radiant Face and a Splendid Voice - transcending the entire universe, looking at Blessed Mother Mary. >> These triumphant words are proclaimed and repeated by the entire Church in unison and acclamation! Rakesh Sharma stated India to be the Better than the Entire world! >> God declared Blessed Mother Mary to be better than all in the Entire World! Sentiments of Patriotism and Sentiments of God's Abundant Grace and Mercy join hands on this day >> The 15th of August... … the Independence Day of India and the Assumption of our Blessed Mother Mary! This day has much to teach us… much to thank the Lord... and much to exhort us! >> This day has much to be nostalgic... much to be joyful... and much to be hopeful of! The Solemnity of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother Mary celebrates Jesus, the Son-King sharing His Glory with His Mother. Human kingdoms have followed the tradition of the son who is the King of the Land, crowning his mother, as the Queen of the Kingdom. The Old Testament bears witness to this fact: >> King Solomon on assuming charge of the throne, after King David, raised his mother Bathsheba to his side, to be the royal queen (1 Kings 2: 19) The Assumption of Mother Mary is one of the four Marian Dogmas that the Catholic Church pronounces. A dogma is a doctrine that is solemnly proposed by the Church as formally revealed in Scripture or Tradition. The four Marian Dogmas are: 1. Mary as the Mother of God 2. The Perpetual Virginity of Mary 3. The Immaculate Conception of Mary 4. The Assumption of Mary into heaven The declaration of the Dogma of the Assumption of Mary is as follows: "By the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, and by our own authority, we pronounce, declare, and define it to be a divinely revealed dogma: that the Immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory." This Dogma of the Assumption was proclaimed on November 1, 1950, by Pope Pius XII in the Apostolic Constitution "Munificentissimus Deus" This proclamation was not defining something new in the Church... ... rather it was an official recognition of the centuries-old belief on Christians about the Assumption of their Heavenly Mother. The Feast of the Assumption is one of the most important feasts of our Lady. The Assumption was the reward God granted to our Blessed Mother for the Right use of Her Freedom! Freedom plays a vital role in the destiny... ... of a person ... of a family ... of a society ... of a nation ... of the world! >> Mamma was invited to be the Mother of God by Angel Gabriel... ... in true freedom, She said Yes! >> Mamma felt the need to be a Helper of the Needy by her cousin Elizabeth ... ... in true freedom, She said Yes! >> Mamma was to be a model of Patience in difficulties at the birth of Jesus ... ... in true freedom, She said Yes! >> Mamma was requested to be a Silent Contemplative during His boyhood ... ... in true freedom, She said Yes! >> Mamma sensed an urgency to be an Intercessor before God at Cana ... ... in true freedom, She said Yes! >> Mamma was called to be a Serene Bearer during the Passion of the Lord... ... in true freedom, She said Yes! >> Mamma was called to be a Model of Prayer at the Upper Room... ... in true freedom, She said Yes! A responsible use of freedom is a sign of true and authentic spirituality and is a pathway to greater glory! >> Freedom is not simply doing what we want... ... Freedom is assuming responsibility for ours and others' lives! >> Freedom is not simply getting our pleasures fulfilled… ... Freedom is fulfilling our tasks in the best way possible! The Assumption of Blessed Mother Mary is an invitation and a challenge for each one of us.... ... To focus our attention on things of heaven & transcendence and not get fixated with cares of this world! ... To live a life of holiness and purity and seeking to do God's will at all times and in every situation! ... To share with the pain and passion of the Lord and become partakers in the salvation of the world! ... To realize that to be Holy & a Saint is a call of every Christian & we need to prioritize our life on them! We need to be reminded that Mary had exclaimed, "Behold, I am the Handmaid of the Lord" (Lk 1:38) Mary was an ordinary human being. >> She too had Her ordinary and humble beginnings. >> She too went through common life's struggles and strains. But through these "ordinary" circumstances... • God "raised" Her to the Heights • God "assumed" Her into Glory ... simply because She "found favour with God" and lived a life worthy of that call >> In total submission, humble obedience and loyally faithful! This then is our call too... >> As Baptized Christians, we have "found favour" with God. We dwell in "ordinary" circumstances of life - with hardships and pains. But if we also... • seek and live the Will of the Lord at all times • constantly submit to what He wants • and dutifully bow to His mercy and grace ... the glory which Jesus has "won" for us at Resurrection, can be ours! God's plans are indeed wonderful... >> In the "Story of the Fall" a mother (Eve) had been involved intimately with a man (Adam) and humanity fell into the sea of sin! >> In the "Story of the Rise", a Mother (Mary) was involved intimately with a Man (Jesus) and humanity is promised to "assume" to the skies of glory! Are we ready to co-operate with God's plans in our lives, just as Mother Mary did... ... and thus receive the "Privilege of Assumption into Glory" just as Mother Mary received? Today is a BIG Day.. ... a Day to thank the Lord for Mamma's Holiness and Her exemplary Life of Responsible Freedom ... ... a Day to thank the Lord for our nation's freedom and her valiant freedom fighters! Let us become mindful of our Loyalty & Obligation to our Nation... ... safeguard the Precious Gift of Freedom! Let us become conscious of our Responsibility & Duty to the Lord... ... grow in the Prized Treasure of Holiness! May Blessed Mamma intercede for our Beloved Nation India... >> And may we hold Her loving hands... ... as we seek to grow in Holiness and making the best use of our freedom as Children of God! >> A very Happy Time to Blessed Mamma reigning with Her Divine Princely Child... ... and a Happy Feast to all of us, Her little ones on the earth! >> A Very Precious Future to Mother India, on her Independence Day... ... and a Precious Day to all of us, her beloved citizens! *God Bless! Was there any eye witness to the event? Why did God not ask the apostles or prophets to record because that would confirm the presentation of the assumption? Did the apostles talk about it? Did the apostles used the Rosary? Did Jesus tell you to use the rosary? Why? Did the apostles recite repetitive ( Matthew 6:7- do not do vain repetitive prays like the pagans.) prays like now? Why did Jesus tell them not to do repetitive prays like the pagans? Why - enlighten us? Did Jesus asked - are these the teachings of God ( Matt 15 ) or the traditions of Man? Why did Jesus asked that questions? At Mt of transfigurations- did God said - this is my Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased - LISTEN to Him! - did God the Father said listen to Moses or Elijah or anyone else ? Why??? Who does God wants you to listen to?

God gave us the Bible, gave us the Church which is "the pillar and foundation of Truth" AND He gave us THE TRADITION OF THE APOSTOLES: 2 Thessalonians 2,15; 1 Corinthians 11,2; 2 Thessalonians 3,6; ; There's a tradition of man and the holy Tradition of the Apostles and Church's Fathers. We have to distinguish. According to your theory, the apostoles are wrong as well, since they write about tradition. And in Heaven also everyone sins because they pray day and night : Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and who is and who is to come! A repetitive prayer! Our father - also one and the same prayer which we know by heart. Jesus don't want our prayers to be blank and hollow. It makes no difference whether it's a repetitive prayer or not. You can pray with your own words and it can be hollow. Why apostoles didn't pray the rosary? Because the Church recognizes and gives its treasures of grace not at a clip. In the first centuries of Christianity the Revelation about Jesus Christ was the most important truth the apostoles had to convey and it's still the only Revelation that we have. BUT the Church has got the things that come from the Revelation and "help to live fully by it in a certain period of history." The veneration for Mary was present in the Early Church: in Church's Fathers writings (e.g. Ignatius of Antioch, died in 108, the desciple of John the Apostole) or in prayers: A prayer Beneath your protection comes from 3rd or 4th century. What I'm trying to say is that before Christians received a canon of the Bible, the New Testament, they'd had the Tradition. That Tradition and the Bible as well, show that Mary should be venerated by Christians. Faith in the Assumption is what first Christians believed and what the Bible confirms even if not directly: Psalm 45 for example. We have a biblical basic for the assumption and the holy Tradition and they are both equally important. There's no Sola Scriptura in the Bible. But there's a Holy Tradition there, a Church - pillar and foundation of Truth. And of course the Bible is the Word of God BUT first Christians didn't have the New Testament - it couldn't be the only source of Truth. Sorry for my english.

The Assumption of Mary (or the Assumption of the Virgin) is a doctrine which teaches that after the mother of Jesus died, she was resurrected, glorified, and taken bodily to heaven. The word assumption is taken from a Latin word meaning “to take up.” The Assumption of Mary is taught by the Roman Catholic Church and, to a lesser degree, the Eastern Orthodox Church. The doctrine of the Assumption of Mary had its beginnings in the Byzantine Empire around the 6th century. An annual feast honoring Mary gradually grew into a commemoration of Mary’s death called the Feast of Dormition (“falling asleep”). As the practice spread to the West, an emphasis was placed on Mary’s resurrection and the glorification of Mary’s body as well as her soul, and the name of the feast was thereby changed to the Assumption. It is still observed on August 15, as it was in the Middle Ages. The Assumption of Mary was made an official dogma of the Roman Catholic Church in 1950 by Pope Pius XII. The Bible does record God “assuming” both Enoch and Elijah into heaven (Genesis 5:24; 2 Kings 2:11). Therefore, it is not impossible that God would have done the same with Mary. It is not wrong to believe that God “assumed” Mary into heaven. The problem is that there is no biblical basis for the Assumption of Mary. The Bible does not record Mary's death or again mention Mary after Acts chapter 1. Rather, the doctrine of the Assumption is the result of lifting Mary to a position comparable to that of her Son. Some Roman Catholics go so far as to teach that Mary was resurrected on the third day, just like Jesus, and that Mary ascended into heaven, just like Jesus. The New Testament teaches that Jesus was resurrected on the third day (Luke 24:7) and that He ascended bodily into heaven (Acts 1:9). To assume the same thing concerning Mary is to ascribe to her some of the attributes of Christ. While the idea of the Assumption of Mary is not heretical in and of itself; in the Roman Catholic Church, the Assumption of Mary is an important step toward why Mary is venerated, worshipped, adored, and prayed to. To teach the Assumption of Mary is a step toward making her equal to Christ, essentially proclaiming Mary’s deity.

Catholics do not worship or praise Mary. They honor her as being the Mother of Jesus and being faithful and obedient to God's will.
@MrEmoji-rf7wf4 жыл бұрын
@@worthwhilediscussion-Roman Catholics attempt to “bypass” these clear Scriptural principles by claiming they do not “worship” Mary or saints, but rather that they only “venerate” Mary and the saints. Using a different word does not change the essence of what is being done. A definition of “venerate” is “to regard with respect or reverence.” Nowhere in the Bible are we told to revere anyone but God alone. There is nothing wrong with respecting those faithful Christians who have gone before us (see Hebrews chapter 11). There is nothing wrong with honoring Mary as the earthly mother of Jesus. The Bible describes Mary as “highly favored” by God (Luke 1:28). At the same time, there is no instruction in the Bible to revere those who have gone to heaven. We are to follow their example, yes, but worship, revere, or venerate, no!

Are Marian Dogmas Biblical? Consider Lk. 1:28, “And he came to her and said, “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you.”, one can say with certainty that Mary is full of grace. The graces God fully bestows on her are not one, two, three, or many graces but full; so full that if these graces were to be added up, they would be equaled to “the Lord is with you (her).” These graces, to name but a few, have been identified by the Catholic Church as: To be the Mother of God; to be perpetual virgin in her virginal conception of Christ, in giving birth to Christ, and her continuing virginity after His birth; to be conceived without original sin; and to be assumed body and soul into heaven, and all other graces. In short, if there is a grace that the Lord did not bestow onto Mary, she would not be full of grace. Thus, the Assumption of Mary and all other Marian dogmas are biblical for their basis lies in Luke 1:28. By proclaiming these dogmas, all that the Catholic Church did was to make known to the world, especially the faithful the graces the Lord himself bestowed on Mary. Besides these dogmas, there are many other graces or great things which the Lord has bestowed on Mary, Lk. 1:49, “for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.” and these can be found in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

But dear people it really really is true that no one can share in God's glory... He simple will not allow it. Mary was a women of honor... one who loved the Lord God and called herself His servant. She was chosen to give birth to Emmanuel because of that . Sometimes we believe things because it has been taught for generations... and then it is just accepted because you are Catholic and that is what your family has always believe so it must be right... And you just have to believe it or you are not Catholic. But what about asking the Lord who reveals all truth to open your heart.. just in case there are some things that are false. For example Joseph was in love with Maria and wanted to marry her. He wanted her to be his wife... They were engaged when she got pregnant with Jesus. Later ... they got married. They got married ... husband and wife. How is it possible that the Lord would tell Joseph that he can marry Mary but never be with her. be intimate... no the Lord would not have asked him to do that. It would have been better that Mary stayed single so she could stay a virgin. I am not judging and i am not speaking with any bad feelings towards you all. Not at all. Just knowing that there are some things taught in the Catholic church that the Lord has not taught us in His Holy Word.
@bridgefin Жыл бұрын
You said: It would have been better that Mary stayed single so she could stay a virgin. Me: Mary had a vow of virginity and had to live with a man in that culture as women could not live alone. Numbers 30 addresses women living under a man's care either as daughter or wife AS A VIRGIN. You asked: How is it possible that the Lord would tell Joseph that he can marry Mary but never be with her. be intimate... no the Lord would not have asked him to do that. Me: The Lord provided for exactly that in Numbers 30. You: Just knowing that there are some things taught in the Catholic church that the Lord has not taught us in His Holy Word. Me: I don't know that.

Did you not listen to the video? He said so himself that the Assumption of Mary is not in Sacred Scripture (though it was written down by early Christians), however, the Prophets Enoch & Elijah were. Why would God Allow these 2 into Heaven body & soul, but, not His Own Mother? Have you ever read the Passion account in St. Mark's Gospel? Did you not read about how the Roman soldiers got Simon of Cyrene to help carry Our Lord's Cross? Why do you suppose they did that, I wonder? Could it be that the Cross was much too heavy for Our Lord, & He Was Falling under its weight? Yes, I think that might be the reason, don't you...?

The Word of God is Jesus Christ. We Catholics created the Bible with the aid of the Holy Spirit, it's not licit to seek personal proof or interpretation against Catholics doctrines within the Bible because the Bible itself is part of the Catholic dogma and tradition. It's a contradiction that can lead to grave heresies, like the modern heresy of Sola Scriptura (protestantism).
@splashenful7 жыл бұрын
No, it is not a lie of the Catholic Church. It was something which Christians believed since the very beginning of the Church. If Mary had died, they would have had her relics, just like they have the relics of numerous other early Christian Saints of the Church.

Mary the New Eve (Gen 3:15, Luke 1:38, Jn 2:4, Jn 19:26, Gal 4:4, Rev 12:1, Rev 12:17) IMMACULATE CONCEPTION: As Eve was created sinless, the New Eve was born unstained by original sin. How can the New Eve be inferior to the old? ASSUMPTION OF MARY: If Adam and Eve had obeyed God, they would have entered heaven body and soul. Since the new creation is the fulfillment of the failure of the old, Jesus, the New Adam, and Mary, the New Eve, obeyed God perfectly. Because of their perfect obedience, Jesus and Mary entered heaven body and soul. CO-REDEMPTRIX: Both Adam and Eve sinned but it was Adam's sin that caused the downfall. Nevetheless, Eve was Co-Transgressor as she played a vital part in man's downfall. In a similar manner, although Jesus' obedience redeemed man, Mary was Co-Redemptrix as she played a vital role in man's redemption. Eve listens to a fallen angel, sins, and tempts Adam who brings the fall of man. Mary listens to an Angel, accepts God's plan, gives birth toJesus who is the redeemer of man. MEDIATRIX OF ALL GRACES: Mary is Mediatrix of All Graces because Mary gives birth to Jesus who reconciles man to God so we can receive God's grace. Also through Mary's intercessory prayers, we receive God's grace as displayed at the wedding at Cana when Jesus truned water into wine when Mary asked him for assistance. It is not Mary's grace, but God's grace that we receive through Mary's intercession. Mary is the New Ark of the Covenant (Ex 40:34-35, Lk 1:35), (2 Sam 6:1-11, Lk 1:39), (2 Sam 6:14, Lk 1:43), (2 Sam 6:15, Lk 1:42), (2 Sam 6:9, Lk 1:43), ( 2 Sam 6:11, Lk 1:56), (2 Sam 6:11, Lk 1:39-45), (Ex 16:33-34, Ex 25:16, Num 17:10, Heb 9:5), (Rev 11:19, Rev 12:1) Prefigured in Jephthah's daughter (Luke 1:34,38 Judges 11:35-39) EVER VIRGIN: No man could touch the Ark (2 Sam 6:7). Similarly no man could touch Mary the New Ark of the covenant. Mary's viriginy upholds the divinity of Jesus. The Ark's main purpose was to bring the presence of God to his people. Similarly, the New Ark's main purpose was to bring the prescence of Jesus (God/Man) to the world. Sacred vessles set aside for God, cannot be used for normal use. Like a goblet used in worship cannot be used to drink wine at dinner. Simiarly Mary's womb set aside to bring God's prescence into the world cannot be used for normal use. Luke in 1:34,38 was alluding to Jephthah's daughter in Judges 11 who accepted the will of her father and was ever virgin. Likewise because Mary accepted God the Father's will, she became ever virgin. Her womb dedicated to God, could not be used for normal activity.

Prayer for many Christians or Protestant That can’t see the beautiful and magnificent Mother of God and immaculate Whoa many can’t belive some easy to understand If Mary is mother of God feo any circumstance pass for the seol and no buried no corruption And because is a mother of God she was take from Ángels when died or sleep Only Jesus had resurrection to beleive in Etenal life And is all possible for God Are examples how the disciples see Elijah ; Moises and Jesus Lazaro for example The girl who was ill Is not possible the Mother of God has the gift to be in heaven ? And has the honour also to appear to us in many places The protestants can’t accept that we pray for them

@viking saxon I think God is referring to people who consult deceased loved ones whom pagans in those days were notorious for doing. I highly doubt God is referring to Christians asking for Saints/Disciples of Christ to pray for them. It's so easy to understand this.

Strong suspicion abounds that Prots do not think Catholics worship Blessed Mary. In fact, Prots KNOW that Catholics do not worship Blessed Mary. Prot exists for one reason only, and that is to destroy the Catholic Church, which Jesus built. God the Son built the Catholic Church, while the devil, who is the father of lies, built Protestantism. Prots spread the lies of their father satan about the Catholic Church every day with the goal of obliterating the Catholic Church.

Stop lying, liar! Catholics do not worship Mary. It is official Catholic teaching, stated clearly and explicitly, that Mary was saved by Christ's sacrifice on the cross. It would indeed be idolatry to worship Mary, but Catholics don't do that. It is not idolatry to pray to Mary, any more than it is idolatry to pray to any other person. And you do pray to other people. Constantly. Just like you see in the Bible: Genesis 12:13 Abram prays to Sarai “Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.” Genesis 13:8-9 Abram prays to Lot: And Abram said unto Lot, “Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.” Genesis 16:2 Sarai prays to Abram And Sarai said unto Abram, “Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her.” And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

bible alone is also very heretical and unbibilical. Bible talks about the prophecy of the Mary's assumption in the book of Revelation. We dont worship her. we love her and venerate her. But bible doesnt have the record of the event of the assumption, bcz Mary died after the final book of the 66 book, KJV bible ...Very ignorant comment. I pray all heretical christians would repent their heresies and reject all satanic lies and respect and find the true Mary, who is glorified by God." Enoch taken to heaven. no worries. Eliyah. Fine. Mary. No. she cant be taken to heaven she is a human and a birth tube"--Definelty satan hates the Mother of God.

Mary: The assumption= catholic fairytale.
@fathermattguckin6375 Жыл бұрын
Do you know why your post is evil? Yes, I wrote ‘evil’? Because it takes something that is good (even if it is simply the good will of Dr. Sri) and attempts to tear it down (in your case, by way of condescending ridicule with the use of the word ‘fairytale’). You can make your point in charity and could promote your own belief on the matter.
@rbnmnt3341 Жыл бұрын
@@fathermattguckin6375 I "promote" my belief on God's word. God's word says there were two people who did not death and were "assumed" into heaven. Of course then there was Jesus. The bible says no such thing about Mary. That is strictly a lie of the devil and a lie of the church. Just like the immaculate conception, the rosary, purgatory, the papacy and the church's self given authority to interpret scripture. Of course there are many others and everyone, except Catholics who have been deceived, know why. So call it what you will, evil or whatever, it's the truth. The truth of the word of God. That is something rome rejects. It's no wonder Catholics are told they "must" believe, to hay they can't question anything or they are anathemized. I guess that was taken right from the teachings of the apostle Paul, right. Did he accursed the bereans when they questioned him? Quite the contrary. So before you call something evil, read the scriptures and get the truth.
