“The Most Dangerous Man In The World” is part of the title of Mary’s 1st book .+ is quite a claim. Who actually believes that? Does Mary actually believes that? Who benefits if many believe that? Does “The Enemy of my enemy is my Friend” apply? Mary’s family was Parents, Brother, Grandparents, 2 aunts, 3 uncles .+ numerous cousins, nieces & nephews. Her Dad ~ 8 years older than Uncle Don and Mary is 27 years younger. Mary’s Dad was 1 of 5. Does she blame all 4 of his siblings or just Uncle Don for being excluded? ~meaning .~ IF they, Mary & Fred, received the inheritance originally designated for their Father, would she have written the book? Mary certainly has every right to write. Question is …~ Was her only motivation to publish a book to Warn The World ?

@lynortnort1072 ай бұрын
@@bonniehaddan4136 not true. For some, who are as very damaged and mentally ill as trump, there is no agency. We can say there is "no excuse" but there is a REASON. It is not acceptable behavior. It is abhorrent behavior, but it is not a decision when it is quite as sever as trump's. Look up Malignant Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Much like the craziness of the worst of cult leaders in history, on par with hitler. The person has to be STOPPED. They essentially cannot change by themselves. Outside pressure from society is the only thing that changes their EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS, not their internal workings. Yes, I am a professional. Yes I know what I am talking about. No, I do not like nor excuse him. I am NOT excusing him He is a heinous individual and he MUST be stopped. It is far more than garden variety parental mistakes. The average person can have insight and can see how they were hurt in childhood by lousy parenting and can then change. Mary is saying just that. Listen to 10 minutes 20 seconds on this video, up to about 11 min, give or take. She is a psychologist and an excellent one at that. Someone with a personality disorder cannot change. I emphasize that. You mean well, but you are wrong. That is the definition of that diagnosis. It is like saying that someone with type I diabetes can make it go away, or that someone born with no arms can grow arms. ALSO it is validated by professionals that he has progressive dementia and that makes him even more dangerous, less culpable and brain damaged up the wazoo! It helps to understand this. It helps to know what we are up against. It helps to understand how the human brain works or you will, respectfully, remain very naive and underinformed. @@bonumvmalum It sounds plausible. In enmeshed family systems escape isn’t an option. And the role of the scapegoat is to go into the desert to die. These families need a scapegoat. They don’t survive without one. That’s why Donald demonizes his opponents. They fulfill the role of scapegoat.

@bonumvmalum my sister in law was the scapegoat in a family of 7 children. My former husband was the narcissistic golden child, and the rest of them were more or less ignored. My sister in law certainly didn't do well, she went from a toxic home life to a toxic marriage. She died a month ago after years battling cancer. Her life was miserable and I was so saddened by her death.

@@janetblanc7658 I'm sorry to hear about your sister-in-law's tragic troubles. However, an execption does not make the rule. Traumas are not created equal, and family roles can't be reduced to simple categorical boxes. Mental-health experts have found that scapegoats *statistically* fare better than those in other family roles.

So well articulated. As a person who also pursued a career in psychology what Mary is sharing is so spot on, this is why we were told by the Lord that we should raise our children in his ways so that when they are older they will not depart from his truth. This, (as she so rightly say) is not only her story, many of us can relate to it in our own circle and even beyond. You look at the characteristics of the person she is speaking about and know she is spot on. Let this be a lesson for each of us. Our children are our future, the legacy we gifted them will be passed on.

I see Trump as a predator and an abuser. Grifter is not enough. America, whether we really want it or not, is in an abusive relationship with this man. That framework helps me understand this truly intolerable moment in our history. Thank you Mary.
@Ketowski2 ай бұрын
Exactly. That’s what fascism is, an abusive relationship with the populace. Peace isn’t possible while they rule because they need constant attention. It looks stable in the outside like an abusive, cult-like family does. It’s all smoke and mirrors. Politically conservative families are built on it. They’re enmeshed so there’s no dissent. They’re all of “one mind”. Lock step and groupthink. 1984 wasn’t about the future, it was about the time it was written. And not just the Soviet Union. It was also about imperialism that the author witnessed as a policeman in India.

I completely agree. I have been experiencing this "era" with such difficulty and have been witnessing it in close relationships, community, across the country and globally as we've all (those with consciousness, that do understand basic health and wellness, ethics, etc.) have been constantly awed in disturbing ways. It has been relentless, psycho/emotional abuse for our society as "his" diabolical movement and followers have been an extremely toxic and so very destructive. In my opinion, it's been an actual battle of sorts for our nation, to weather the lunacy and extreme, negativity as we stand and battle in order to keep our democracy, our United States..... My goodness, I hope for the best and that a day will come that we can look back on aspects of such a challenging time.....

One of the most useful things I learned in a career as a psychotherapist is that we all have a need to communicate how we feel to others, and that while people who have the insight and the vocabulary can do this by telling people how we feel, those who can't do that - children and undeveloped adults - communicate their feelings unconsciously, by behaving in ways that make the people around them feel the same way they're feeling - scared, confused, angry, depressed, anxious, etc. I learned to check my own internal responses, ask myself how the interaction was causing me to feel, and then probe to see whether that was how the person in front of me was feeling. Often it was. I learned to shift my attention from the details of the conversation to the process underneath it. Often I could short-circuit mind games by stopping, looking someone in the eye, and asking, "Why did you say/do that? What are you hoping will happen?"

Humans are flawed. The religious rules they make are flawed too, as are the texts they write. Too many religious fanatics use these flawed sources to make themselves and others believe they are superior and entitled to do whatever they want to whoever they want. They're wrong, and they become the very evil they claim to fight against.

I believe we project our parents onto our god. Abusive dad, judgeful revengeful god. Loving parents, loving god. Unfortunately we have an economic system that beats down the workers into a state of trauma, and worships the sociopathic decisions that only lead to profit. We train businessmen to make decisions purely on the good of the company, regardless of consequences.
