I’m an ex muslim from Malaysia. We have a secret atheist group here, there’s a lot of ex muslim but choose to live quietly than being exposed to danger and can be taken away to prison or death penalty. Few years back our government trying to track us down and its on national news. How crazy is that? Of course Malaysia are multiracial and multi religious country but it doesn’t mean there’s no oppression here. We do have shariah law here. SO PLEASE HELP US WITH TELLING EVERYONE WHAT’S GOING ON ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE LEFTIST MOVEMENTS IN WESTERN COUNTRIES.

What in the world is wrong with students and faculty at Goldsmiths? Why would they protest against Namazie's presence on campus? It's such defining and ultra conservative position for a university to support. I wonder whether artists from Goldsmiths stood up against the fundamentalist direction of the school. They ought to. Otherwise their reputation will be and probably has been damaged. How embarrassing for alumni of Goldsmiths.

I think it was Steven Weinberg who said “With or without religion, good people can behave well and bad people can do evil; but for good people to do evil - that takes religion.” It is really time to put religion into its right place: a historic misguidance

I think it would be a positive thing to educate people more about how it isn't the Muslims that are bad, it is their religion, separating people from the culture/beliefs could go along way to reduce racial hatreds. We should feel sorry for Muslims for the evil doctrine they were born into, and forced to follow for fear of death.

Dear Laurence, it is not only going on this way in Angl-saxon society, France (with even a more compicated history with muslim countries), but university, politics, feminist and "anti-gender groups", France has the same trouble as you know, everything ("good and bad" here comes from the states, it is a global occidental problem(s), in my opinion, because were in a space of time where after dogmas and doctrines (theologic or politic) have colapsed, there is at the moment nothing that is build stongly for our this-day world, there is a kind of unhealthy conservatism as well on the left and the right progessists or reactionaries
@yourib51524 жыл бұрын
in what you say, if those groups where pouchased, they will disolve, so, if they look like average people, how to fight them when their groups are desoluted?, our problem in France lately, is thet the last of those terrorists do not operate with a group or organisation, and so are difficult to find...

Very interesting interview. Thanks for this one as this woman is quite an interesting and good human. :) - As for the idea about religion being useful for those in power: At 1:06:22 you address power for religion. Historically, the pope during WW2 was made aware of the German’s extermination camps AND he choose to not take a stand against this publicly… What would compel such a inhumane posture? Simple, Religion has been in cahoots with power and there was a real chance at the time that the Nazi thugs would win the war. Now, why would a pope put his head at stake and pick a side before history decides who wins and who will be your patron? (Of course, this is a rhetorical question and quite easily cynical, but one can't argue with history, right?) Now, here is my *sigh* of disgust here towards religious morons and extremist. - Great show by the way. :) PS I look forward to your exchange with Chomsky about what she brought-up. :)

Well, I am not into the fact that she is lying or making it up; that said, verisimilitude is far far away when examined, assessed, and evaluated critically by the lens of neutrality. Her personal experiences as well as the ensembles of others being persecuted at the brutal hands of Islamists, as what she is implying have nothing to do with religion. Seeing is not believing as mostly we get tricked by letting shown something having the other side concealed. No offense, Just a personal point of view.
@siim6053 жыл бұрын
Nothing to do with religion? Right. When the prophet Muhammad said several times in the Hadith that apostates should be executed, this has no link to apostates facing death, violence or imprisonment today, correct? And I suppose when the Quran says polytheists and Christians are "the worst of all creatures", that has nothing to do with religious minorities in Islamic countries being attacked, oppressed or bullied?

you cant imagine well maybe you can how much i dislike those fillwords like saying "you know" every 10 seconds ... you know ... it like . you know like if when like you know ... it ends up with anyway. the fact that i was not even capable but willing to tolerate and endure myself throughout the whole podcast speaks volumes about how important it is what is beeing said in between all those "you knows" :) i hope you forgive me my slight offensive speach hehe im sure we all have our quirks and strange habbits. the trick i suppose is to accept each other as we are but that just works if it goes both ways. in case islam wants me dead .. i dont have a problem with having "it" "removed" out of existence as well. and i wanna be clear its islam that belongs in a museum dead and burried not the people. i dont mind if some people wanna follow their belive system into the ground .. may their god be with them and keep them happy but to those who are trying to convince me should be armed with evidence or simply put go to hell as far as i am concerned ... and meet us all down there again in case it turns out god actualy exist .. but to be honest i think at this point there is already too much evidence that actualy prooves god does not exist at all. i like a good book tho but the bible or the koran for that matter are not even good books. why am i writing so much again its propably the topic that keeps me raging. how about we just ban religion :) i know it would be unfair .. so what .. thats what they are expecting us to be ok with .. beeing forced to what ever it is they come up with. i would be all in for turning that around and start with simple things like open up a bakery and everyone entering has to leave their phone and god outside and they have to activly burn a bible and a koran at the doorway to proove their worth as customer haha that would be fun
