When your hair gets super long tangling becomes a real issue. Even if your ends aren’t damaged or split, the cuticles on your ends are more lifted than the hair closer to the scalp and the ends tend to tangle more as a result. Because of this, I never wear my hair loose unless it is flat ironed. A lot of naturals with really long hair wear wash-n-goes. I can’t. My hair stays plaited.

This makes me sad because, to me, there's no point in growing long healthy hair if I can't wear it out. I'm currently mid-back length and what to reach my tailbone.

Happened this week with my 4B/C TWA too, three weeks after getting four to six inches off with a haircut. I definitely did not expect knots to form until my hair length increased. This was an awesome video.

I could be wrong but that looks and has the behaviors of protein overload. Protein overload seems to appear out of nowhere once the hair is wet. The hair is matted, knotted, breaking, dull, frizzy, brittle, etc. Try a bentonite clay mask. It doesn’t correct it after one use but the difference is mind blowing . The improvement is incredible. Also, if it is Protein overload, use zero protein in the hair until the moisture/protein balance is restored. No aloe, no rice water, absolutely zero protein . It’s never mentioned in natural hair spaces but aloe contains protein, “raw” protein. .

I wish I could say I've never had my hair tangle out like that, but I have and I cried when they did because it took me 2 Plus hours to detangle. My head was sore. Your hair is very pretty.

Glad you had a great time on your vacation. You and your hubby did a good job detangling your beautiful head of hair. Btw I'm using your deep conditioner as part of my hair regime this weekend.

You know what, my hair get like that after I leave my perm rod set in for longer than 1 week. I think it happens when we don’t separate and moisturize it as the style last. So when it dries up it gets knotted up and matted.

I lost my hair on vacation. Just gotten shoulder length natural and colored my hair before vacation. Fell in salt water with no products in any stores. It was so matted for the rest of vacation...I was so depressed and my parents had come with us. Hair is so emotional for us!! I cut if all off when I got home. And, I am bsl 4 years later.

Yeah the steamer definitely might have broke because of using it for 2hrs straight😂😂 the batteries in those things are only built to run for like 30 min intervals, maybe 45min max at one time.

I know for a fact flexi rod sets and roller sets, not taken seriously, will tangle up your hair like mad. ESPECIALLY going in moving water. Protective styles are important for going swimming. Glad you got it turned around.
