To answer your question: @ 55, no period for 6 mo, diagnosed with OP & osteopenia. I asked my internist (who is in her late 30’s) about HRT. She said “no, it’s too dangerous. The risk far out weighs any benefits. You would only take it for 5 years.” Clearly she is clueless. I fired her after the second dexa. I hope she treats herself with updated guidance in 10 years. I am still mad.

Thank you for all the time & effort you put into your work! You are truly a blessing to so many women❤. I’ve listened to all your utube videos and shared them as well. I’m a 78 years young woman, active but have osteoporosis. I’ve never been on HRT and would love to know if it’s still possible for me at this age? I only wish I had this knowledge years ago! I know you can’t diagnose? I’d just like your opinion if I should seek this out with my ob gyn? Thanks again for all you do & keep up the good work❤

Everyone deserves the conversation with their healthcare provider to see if it is right for you and if the benefits outweigh the risks at any age. HRT is most helpful when begun early and within 5-10 years of menopause, but we still recommend that you speak with a healthcare provider if you are interested! XOXO Community Support Team

Hi, Mary! Thanks for your content. Can post menopausal hormone levels cause bloating in addition to visceral fat? If one were untreated post menopausal for a decade and now is treated with estrogen and has good levels, how long does it take for bloating to improve when caused by low hormone levels? You keep talking about belly fat in your videos and I have noticed hrt improving my fat distribution (started having good levels four months ago) but still nothing on the bloating front. I tried checking the gastro health front and my tests are all negative.

Hi Dr Haven ! I just turned 53 and I finally got an appointment last Semester 27 menopause symptoms. I had my last period April 7, 2022. I started getting night sweats, skin changes , depression, fatigue, teeth and gum issues . Anyway I went into the appointment armed with what I wanted to do thankfully because of you and your guidance, I was prescribed an Estradiol patch but this doctor won’t give me anything else . No micronized progesterone I know vagina cream. I went back for. Follow up after 3 weeks to see how I wax doing with the patch and wax told to come back in 3 months for progesterone. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

@crh251

Unfortunately the reason she winced is because she’s clueless like most doctors are about menopause. They’re all following a study from 20 plus years ago that was flawed. Follow your gut and do what’s right for you. I did too and am happy I did!

I am 57 … trying to understand the fasting benefits. It may not be the best time as I am training for a marathon - so I don’t fast before exercise (6am). Do you?
@maryclairehavermd8473
@maryclairehavermd8473 10 ай бұрын
Dr. Haver does exercise while fasted, but her workouts are not longer than 1 1/2 hours typically. If you are training for a longer period, you may need some nutrition during that time. Even if you fast for 14 hours each day, you should see the benefits. XOXO Community Support Team
