Soulwax - Too Many DJs

Really funny video by the Belgian rock-dance masters - I do believe it was the first video attributed to them in fact (feel free to prove me wrong of course). A whole bunch of DJs provide entertainment seemingly with the same song in unison. ;-)

It's a cultural thing. In Belgium (or atleast the Flemish part) you have lots of crappy older amateur "DJs" working at carnavalparties, weddings, etc, and they all have crummy names like Discobar Galaxy or DJ Bertrand. There's thousands of them.

@streebling Because DJs are supposed to look good and be in touch with the latest trends, or those guys are completely cheap and outdated. Also, it is goes with the lyrics "Everybody wants to be a DJ" = everyone knows a lot of guys who wants to play the dj but are in fact not good at all, hence they just mix for crappy private parties and mariages. Personaly, I love this clip because it reminds me the lame "parties" I had when I was younger and where I went with relatives.

Yes and no. If you do a search on "Much Against Everyone's Advice" you'll get 1999 as release date. Unfortunately, that's the US release date. When you go to the discography of soulwax, you'll see that the initial Belgian release of the album was allready 1998. Also, the back of my cd says 1998. IT'S 1998! :-) Again, sorry for the nitpicking.

I Don't want to be a nitpicker but I bought the cd "Much Against Everyone's Advice" from Soulwax immediately when it came out in 1998. This track was included on the album. So i guess it's 1998 and not 1999.

Not quite, they are still known as soulwax, then they play sons in this genre. When they play like 2 many dj's they play more techno genre , but not always own songs.
