I still do not understand why humans make such a big deal about a baby out of wedlock. A baby is a baby... Another precious life born on this earth ,irrespective of whether the parents are married or not. Marriage is simply a man made custom - a legal contract with witnesses present to make merry! That's all it is! Neena Gupta had the courage to give birth to her daughter un bothered about other people's opposition or criticism and seems to have raised her to be a sensible, grounded girl. We have one life to live and we should do what comes to us naturally. Who cares what people think or say? I am 63 and have been single for over 30 years and been my own mistress and lived my life exactly as i've wished and never gave a fig about other people's jabber and blabber.. I am glad I did, even with some mistakes along the way, Ive taken the responsibility and faced the consequences and learnt some lessons.. A life dictated by norms and dull, conventional people with blinkers on is a mundane, boring life of self imprisonment and no growth. Born free... Live free! Die free with a contented smile on your face...

I like Neena as an actress, but her gyan or preaching is a big no... When she got her parents constant support she was not actually raising child single handedly. , Specially while raising her daughter she had far better life then those women who don't get their parents support even if it is an arranged marriage, and it is not their fault , and their kids are denied to be given any support from her own family saying surname badal gaya or this is not our grandchild he is grandchild of his paternal family. Or even if they get a little support for few months throughout life her siblings or relatives show as if they are doing favour to daughter it is not her right. The same experience even a son can have. Bottomline is favourite child get support and he or she has no bitterness.And those who don't get support from any corner feel bitter and that is the main reason they feel cheated from both sides and it's difficult to actually live like a single parent and raise children single handedly, but this was Neena's case. That is the reason she has no bitterness, no surprise. When she was raising her child with support of her father completely , then her hardships and insecurities are far less than others and child is actually not being raised single handedly. So, no point of preeching like mother Teresa, as if you are so positive and have no bitterness for the world , when you had complete support and undivided attention of your father and he must be supporting you with all possible means including financially you have reason to be less bitter.
