The SSJ4 forms at the end of the branches are called “Limit Breaker” forms. While Goku and Vegeta had some God Ki infused, Broly did it on his own.

For all the flak we give Kale and Caulifla for being made of hacks, the original Broly wasn't much better. Because every time we see him, he just gets stronger and stronger, even in ways that should not even be possible. SSJ4 isn't the kind of transformation you can achieve through training or just by getting stronger. First off, you need the ability to go super saiyan, *your tail (most importantly),* go great ape, then regain your sense of self as a great ape, then viola! You're a Super Saiyan 4. *But Broly just ignores that process.* No tail. No Oozaru, he just goes straight into 4. And not only does he get 4, he gets limit breaker almost instantly after and does one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen: *He fought off TWO separate versions of VEGITO at their strongest AT THE SAME TIME.* They couldn't even scratch him.

I believe there should be 3 main “lines” of saiyan transformations with everything else being variations/extensions/combinations of those forms. If I had the chance to rewrite dragon ball that’s how I’d handle it Great ape->ikari Golden great ape->ssj4 Ssj/lssj line (false ssj-ssj3) Ssb/ssr->ssb/ssr 2/evolution-> ssb/ssr 3 Ssg If you’re god ki is aligned to destruction (god of destruction) you get ssb, if you’re god ki is aligned to creation (supreme Kai) you get ssr. Dark super saiyan/evil saiyan/super saiyan devil (cumbers dark form) is just an opposite to saiyan god (god v devil) Everything else is techniques or transformations available for everyone, not just saiyans

My favorite version of the Saiyan Transformation chart was from Hyourinjutsu during the GT Goku vs Frieza. I think it was around the 9 minute mark. This one is really cool but also kind of hard to follow.

I remember when I watch DBZ in the late 90’s. How when I first heard about a Super Saiyan in the show there was so much suspense about it, and every time when someone talks about it they either say that those who awaken it will have a power to be the strongest being in the universe, or in Vegeta’ case talk about it and when someone asks what it is he just walks away saying nothing. It was just a legend, but Frieza believed in it, so much so that he blew up Planet Vegeta out of fear, and after so much time we finally see one appear awakened by rage. After that it got repetitive by numbers, colors, and to the point where it’s not a Super Saiyan transformation anymore.

It would have been interesting to see it kept as an uncontrolled thing until the end of Z then in super he gets super Saiyan god (which is just his base form with God ki) and learns to combine it with super Saiyan during the battle with Beerus out of a fit of rage, then ultra instinct should have been training from whis during the Goku black arc

The Android/Cell saga was good, but one of its flaws is that it definitely trivialized super saiyan, very deliberately even, with Goku and Gohan learning to just chill while being in the form, which removed its edge, but by that point we had like 4 super saiyans (5 if you think of perfect Cell as being lowkey super saiyan in his own way) and there was no edge or suspense to the form anymore anyway.

The Broly form from the 4D film is actually God Broly Form. For OG Broly, and it’s considered similar, but god enhanced version of Legendary SSJ Broly.

Honestly, as someone who's read the Heroes manga, I actually followed along with the chart fairly easily tbh. Made sense to me. EDIT: while I remember, allow me to make one correct that I can recall. The thing between the DBZ LSSJ, and LSSJ3 is actually Broly in SSJ2, without the power of the LSSJ iirc. And yes, it does look extremely cursed all things considered. And the other Broly form from the 4D thing that looks like LSSJ3 is actually just called God Broly. No other name is given, nor any explanation iirc.

If I am being honest, I have always been annoyed that they got rid of the idea of real transformations. The Great Ape Transformations was gigantic and different, and everything after that was just a normal human design with another color/more hair. I honestly want to see them mess with forms a bit more. Honestly, that goes for other species as well. Whatever happened to Pickalo's giant form? Can he use that now, but it just isn't practical? There has to be a way to use that in a fight. He already has stretchy arms he never uses. I believe this quote from Bruce Lee said it best. “I personally do not believe in the word style. Why? Because, unless there are human beings with three arms and four legs, unless we have another group of human beings that are structurally different from us, there can be no different style of fighting.” But in dragon ball, you can literally become structurally different during a fight. What if transformed into an ape that wasn't as big and learned using that form? Suddenly learning a transformation is more similar to learning a new style with a new body rather than just getting stronger and learning one or two new moves that beat somone. Remember how Freeza used his tail a lot in fights? That is a perfect example of how fighting in a new body could expand his style.

Masako, Clarification. The first Masked Rose form is Super Saiyan Rose 2, then Rose 3, then Rose 3 Full Power, or Mastered Super Saiyan 3 with a Rose spin.

@@MasakoX no problem. Cumber is the other one who has Full Power 3. Also the Gogeta from the Blue section is.... ahem. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Evil Infused Ultra Instinct Gogeta. Or to break that down, Evil Ki infused Vegeta who fought off the influence and turned the Evil Saiyan Power up (Turles used it,, you mistake it for 3 and I don't blame you for that) and forced it to work for him as part of Blue. I just call it Majin Blue Vegeta for simplicity. Combine that with a Goku who has a handle on Ultra instinct, and have them both use it at once. I've been following SDBH. I'd have mentioned SSJ4 LB but others have mentioned it.

This chart explains to me why I've always been confused when people get all excited over a "new transformation". Like, even the difference between SSJ and SSJ2 is less subtle than some of these. It wasn't until I've seen the fandom call it a new form that it even crossed my mind Vegeta's Blue Evolution was a new form. I just thought the slight color difference was just a soft redesign to help him contrast more or something.

Ok so there’s quite a few forms here that should have their names and dont lol. The Fu super saiyan form is simply because he has saiyan genes in his dna and that was him essentially turning super saiyan, the thing where super saiyan 4 has god ki is a form called Super Saiyan 4 Limit-Breaker/Limits Broken and is the result of people fusing ki into super saiyan 4 to give them god-form like strength(think full powered super saiyan 4 but with a god ki user present with the energy transfer) and the vegeta with a dark aura is literally him containing dark aura and combining it with his blue form.

I personally call Super Saiyan Rage, "Super Saiyan Demigod" because to me it makes perfect sense. Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma, one is a god the other isn't, the aura is half god, half normal, it makes sense thematically as it splits the difference between mortals and gods (looking at you here Zamasu) and it just sounds way cooler and unique.
