For those of you asking, here is a bonus rating, for False Super Saiyan: B/C: FSSJ was the precursor to what we would then see in Movie 5 (Cooler's Revenge). Supposedly, the colour of Super Saiyan at the time of the movie's release hadn't been finalised. The movie came out three months before SSJ's debut in the main series and thusly the lack of gold hair. Whether this was to prevent spoilers, an administrative error or just another power we can't be certain of (It was nice the filler arcs of Z included it in some way). As a form on its own, it's pretty surprising and is a good twist for a very meh movie so it's pretty alright.

Scorpion Cox to be fair gohan did better against buutenks the second time around but that was most likely because of the zenkai boost he received once dende healed him

GKING0906 Gohan didn't get a zenkai boost when Dende heal him. In fact, it was stated by Gohan that he doesn't feel any stronger meaning that was the strongest he could be in that ultimate form. Even then, Gohan didn't face buutenks a second time. Goku came in and stalled buu out so Gohan could get the other potara earring before buutenks turned into buuccolo due to gotenks defusing inside him

@@Gking0906True, he was able to withstand a blast with more stability than the fainting spell he got earlier from blocking the makakensoppo, but that could have been more due to the context of Gohan's stamina at those different points. The makakensoppo was when Gohan was ebbing, while the latter blast was against a fully-recovered, fully-powered one. Then again, much of the 'worn out Ultimate Gohan' was from the Anime only.

Agree on pretty much everything, to my surprise. I'll just point out that the "Ultimate" form was never a form of any kind - it was just fully realized power without the need to transform - until Super decided to market it as such. A shame the Super era took its two best forms - god and omen, and ruined both of them by introducing a much, much worse version that has a bigger narrative number.

The SSJ3 form has an awesome introduction and theme but due to it being hardly ever used and told to have more deficits than benefits, it's a D tier for me. I would write off SSJ3 personally as an unstable form of SSJ4, being a hybrid transformation of the Oozaru (because of the Neanderthal brow and long primal hair) form and Super Saiyan

While I understand that SS3 wasn't practical in terms of ki and stamina drain, I think that was the whole point - it was reserved for enemies where SS2 didn't cut it, and Goku had to push his Super Saiyan form to the very limit (without sacrificing speed like Grade 3) in order to try defeat them, even if that meant inefficiency.

I love the Golden Oozaru and SSJ4. It felt like such a natural progression in the Sayian folklore and biology. Like, of course you can go super Saiyan as a Great Ape. Despite all the flaws GT has, they nailed Golden Oozaru and SSJ4.

i agree with everything on this list except SSB kaioken being c tier, i'd say at least b BECAUSE IT'S SO COOL. It's also just such a great callback to the early days of Z and seeing the return of something so classic and it having such an impactful and triumphant return in a new era of dragon ball and a reminder that not everything is forgotten or made obsolete in the ever expanding levels of power in the dragon ball multiverse. My thoughts on the Super Saiyan transformations Great Ape: The transformation is scary at first when it happens to Goku, but when Vegeta does it he makes it ten time more terrifying! Kaioken: While it does help boost his strength but damages his body, it still looks cool the first time and during the Frieza battle. Super Saiyan: The most iconic transformation in history, 'nuff said. Grade 2 Super Saiyan: While it is short lived you can help but root for Vegeta when he battle Imperfect Cell. Grade 3 Super Saiyan: Amazing at first but became lame and pointless after a few minutes. Super Saiyan 2: Quite possibly an another iconic moment for the series, talk about an major character development for Gohan (until an arc later}. Super Saiyan 3: While I consider it as one of the greatest moments years ago, as of now the transformation is just doesn't have that hype. No wonder it appears less in Super. Ultimate Gohan (aka Mystic Gohan): An short comeback for Gohan, it was impressive the first time but when Gohan screws up it then goes downhill, at least until the TOP arc in Super. Golden Great Ape: An callback to the classic series but with golden hair, I just look at as pointless but it has its moments. Super Saiyan 4: The best transformation but on the worst sequel series. The design is pretty good I have nothing mean to say about it. I think it should reappear on a new canon sequel series. Super Saiyan God: Red Hair, slick body, the powers of a god. At first glance I didn't like it but it then grew to like it. Super Saiyan Blue: SSJ but with blue hair dye, while the new current trope for the series it just didn't deliver to the fans as much as the others. Kaioken Super Saiyan Blue: An major improvement, also great to see the Kaioken making a comeback. Blue Evolution: Another short lived transformation for Vegeta, hope to see it again in an later series. Super Saiyan Rose: Talk about a twist in the transformation list, a villain with pink hair dye yet he still looks scary. Super Saiyan Rage: While its not an astonishing transformation it makes up for making Trunks still look like an badass. Ultra Instinct Sign: At first glance you probably thinking "What the hell is this?" but in a good way, at first tease it gave off a massive hype that SSB just didn't do. Ultra Instict Mastered: Looking at it I thought "Super Saiyan Silver" but it's not a SSJ, it's something different and I liked it and I want to see more of it in an new series. Pre-Legendary Super Saiyan: I know it call by a different name but I decide to call it by this name, all I can is it looks scary and cool at the same time. Legendary Super Saiyan: While it looks like the Broly in the original movies, this transformation I think looks way better than its predecessor.

@@DharshM0 Well Super Saiyan clearly "transforms" their state, like Frieza changing states, their hair goes golden and spikes up, even grows. It's an actual transformation. Also it's natural to saiyans and unique to them, it's 100% impossible for humans to "learn" that, Kaioken is possible for anyone to learn and it's just like powering up but with a few more pros and cons, that's it, and allows you to multiple your power much further than your maximum for a short while. It's in the name "trans" formation, from transition, change, Kaioken does none of that it just powers up

@@tyuy100 Makes sense if you just look at physical change only. The reason I and a lot of other people consider it a transformation as well though is that the ki has transformed. When using the Kaioken (at least originally), the ki becomes less stable and harder to control. I think what it does is spec the body to focus more on power output and speed instead of defence and endurance based on what we have seen in the early uses. The ultimate form and potential unlocks can also be considered transformations because it changes a person's ki.

Super Saiyan 4 only A but God and unmastered S... I unno I'm with ya everywhere else (though you were nicer to Golden ape than I would have been). 4 was just so different, so refreshing to see the form change and it kept so many ideas swimming in fans' minds for so long. It was inspirational and showed that new concepts were out there for the creative team. It definitely is up there with kaioken and Super Saiyan for me.

I was expecting a tier list of the act of tranformations rather than the usefulness of the tranformations themselves. Idk why. If it was the former, ssj3 would be s tier for me, but seeing what you're doing I completely understand. But then you throw everything off with omen imo; one of the most hype moments in dragon ball, and definitely in super alone. Love the circle thumbs btw!

The difference in those ratings is that Golden Oozaru had some kind of surprise mixed with it plus the peril of having Goku go ape with that giant monkey (form) was more of a spectacle. A good way of making Oozaru relevant again.

However with Super Saiyan Blue it basically made the Super Saiyan more relevant than it has been in years by having it create something new with the Super Saiyan God. It's design isn't really a big deal imo considering Ultimate is just a more defined hairstyle and other forms being very simple which I love. I personally find Super Saiyan 4 to be dogshit. I my comment may have came off as a little harsh, and I apologize for that. I'm just a Super Saiyan Blue fanboy tbh lol.
