The transformation of Masaryk Station and its surroundings is one of the biggest projects in the centre of our metropolis in the last decades. That is why we have decided to focus on it in this part of our Living Prague series.
What can (not only) Prague residents look forward to and what will the new Masaryčka station hide?
Extraordinary offices
Let's start with a unique office building - designed by the world-famous architect Zaha Hadid, it will be exceptional, for example, with golden plates on the facade, strips of greenery on the sides of the building or a roof garden. On the ground floor, there will be stylish restaurants and cafés. Not surprisingly, almost all the offices are already occupied...
A moment at the airport
But it's not just the office building that will be revolutionary. The fact that the tracks and platforms for the airport rapid transit will be built here is much more important for life in Prague. Masaryčka will literally be a link between Prague and the whole world. After all, that is why the project's motto is "Masaryčka connects".

Easier on the train...
Masaryk Station itself is also about to be transformed. As part of the modernisation, an underpass is going to be built between the hotel currently under construction and Masaryčka. This platform will be partly a park and partly a covered passage. In addition, there will be stairs leading from it to the individual platforms. It should be ready in 2026.
...and the bus
And thirdly - Masyryčka should also be connected to the Florenc bus station in the future. In the end, the design by Unit architects, A69 and Marco and Placemakers was successful in an international architectural competition. So we will finally see the modernisation of this - now neglected - area.
How do you like the planned transformation of Masarycka? Are you looking forward to the upcoming changes, or do you think that the developer will be the main beneficiary? Let us know in the comments!
