Kamei is the best so far. This young man make the piano like a part of his body. His touch is sensible and full of joy, exactly like Mozart require to his piano concerts. For me he deserve the Cliburn prize this year. Bravo!

Is there such a liberating performance? The world can't help but love him! こんなに心が解放された演奏があるでしょうか?世界は彼は愛さずにいられない!
His engagement with the orchestra and his expressiveness as he plays both contribute to a splendid performance. His smiles reveal his playfulness just as I expect Mozart would want in a pianist dancing gracefully along the keyboard. Bravo👏👏👏👏👏

I have an idea that this young man could quite easily have directed the orchestra from the piano. He has a great talent and deserves - if he wants it - to be heard by the whole world. He also has a delightful sense of mischief. A marvellous performance; am immensely glad to have heard it. Thank you.

I agree as well. Kamei should have gotten Stephensons lot. I lost a lot of respect for CS tonight. He seems not to care about the competition and Gershwin is not serious enough for this competition. Not after Ilya absolutely tore up the Rach 3.! ...
@jackcurley15912 жыл бұрын
@@belindaintexas8789 I agree that Kamei should have made it over Clayton, but also don't think Ilya should be in the finals either. Ilya had a really rough time with the Rach 3 (partially fault of the orchestra), but his playing was filled with mistakes, his tone was incredibly dry and uninspired, and he played with very little direction and cohesion

It is a graceful and natural interpretation that reminds me of Mitsuko Uchida. It will be difficult to get tickets for his concerts in the near future.

Basically my hat is off to any competitor who chooses something other than D minor, C minor or K. 467. All great pieces, and no disrespect intended to the competitors who DO choose those pieces. I just like to see pianists provide proof that they've explored - at least a little bit - beyond those 3 concertos. As it happens K. 459 is a favourite and I enjoyed this very much. As I explore more of the Mozart Concerto round, I'll be curious to see if anyone picks 2 of my other favourites - K. 450 and K. 453. And for that matter, I wouldn't say no to a K. 271 or 595!

This competition has lost its seriousness for me. Kamei's quarterfinal and semifinal program and especially Ravel interpretation (Gaspard de la nuit) were breathtaking. I think everyone who watched the competition felt that Kamie has unique colors and a unique touch. Many contestants who are currently in the final made mistakes. Kamei has a capacity far beyond his age in terms of tempo, sound and originality. What happened, dear jury, the candidates who made mistakes and different mistakes were promoted to the finals, but Kamei was eliminated!!!!!!!

Kamei's best friend, Hayato Sumino, suffered the same fate at the Chopin Competition last year. It made no sense for having 67% of E. European competitors in the final pool and one American contestant whose skills really didn't measure up to others comparatively. Competition in the absence of impartiality and merits is meaningless.
