Absolutely. The amount of pure second-hand joy I felt was outstanding. Alex's videos are filled with passion, especially for FFXIV music, going so in-depth that some people might even call it overreaching.... so when the COMPOSER HIMSELF comes to him saying he watches him frequently, that ALEX WAS 100% RIGHT, and that the sole fact he discovered all that stuff made Sonke happy about his own music... just...wow... I have no words, this didn't even feel like a legend descending to chat with other people, it genuinely felt like two fans of each other's work praising it back and forth, very wholesome. Now Alex is one step closer to work in FFXVI

@@GlitchToph That last bit, about how it felt like two fans of each other geeking out over their stuff, felt so real. At the time of the recording, Soken was still in cancer fighting spirit (you can tell from the wig and the eyebrows), yet he _still_ did this because it was so very clear he knew _exactly_ who these two were. The fact that's true is insane from a developer perspective: You _never_ see such warm conversation between players/fans and the dev team, _except_ when it comes to FFXIV. If you watch the NoClip documentary, which I'm sure most of us have by this point, the feelings the dev team have for their fans is so crystal clear: They can't get enough. It's their reason for doing what they're doing.

@@AmineBarbouch Late reply but: SE, like many other is in it for the money. But there is one major difference to the majority of their competition: pride. They had it, they lost it, and they regained it over the course of FF14 history. FF14 is their biggest title, hence the game HAS to be good, otherwise people will look down on the whole company. And that simply isn't allowed to happen. It's "fine" to have a bunch of games that are good cashcows, but their attitude is one of "our best game HAS to be our best, period". The tragic thing about that attitude: that's the exact reason FF14 1.0 failed. They tried to make the game perfect, but forgot how to fit all the created parts together... and put together the work of their arists/devs/etc sucked as an MMO. They learned from that painful mistake, now involving their community at every step of the process and doing whatever it takes to make the best game they can TOGETHER with us. And that's a message all of us understand, hence the community has grown at an insane pace.

I've been a lifelong fan of Square Enix, from all the way back when they were still Squaresoft. Hell, I remember that back when I was in middle school (which was about 20 years ago), we were given an assignment where we had to send a letter in to a company, and if we got a response, we had to bring it in and show it to the teacher as proof that we'd done the assignment. The company I wound up choosing was Squaresoft, and they actually did send me a reply back even though the letter would likely have been painfully obvious as something a kid had sent in. Sadly, I don't have that response letter anymore, which is something I actually regret. But at least the memory has stuck with me thus far. I trust them as a company, and I always have. There aren't very many companies that I would say that about these days.

I've only casually watched a few of your videos but seeing them come out across the last few months (.. year?)from the first FFXIV video, your interactions with Soken this whole time and absolute love for the game and his compositions, and on the other side seeing Soken's replies to your tweets and recognition of your analyses, seeing this all come together (with Husky, who I'd not heard of until just now, sorry!) makes my heart so so happy. This is so awesome, to talk to Soken himself. The feeling of talking and meeting with someone from a game series you enjoy is the best feeling ever. I remember the time I met Nobou Uematsu at an anime convention and got him to sign my CE of ver 1.0 for FFXIV. This was awesome and I'm happy you are able to share it with us.
