This is fair and unbiased review of both and I can really appreciate that. I have been rocking with Studio One since the Producer 2 version. Just when had made up my mind to go with the Mikro MK3, Presonus drops their gem at an even cheaper price so I'm going to remain loyal for now and see what the Atom has to offer. Thanks for the comparison my brother Peace

The most important section of a pad controller is the actual pads, how do these compare in terms of quality, playability?
@DJKlemStudios6 жыл бұрын
Well, this wasn't a hands on review. Will do that once I have both devices. However, I expect both devices to be pretty even as both companies are renowned for well built hardware... The Maschine might just shade this because native instruments has more experience building pad controllers

Studio one is a full fledged daw maschine is not a full daw i own both and i have tge mk3. And i have the faderport for studio one but for the price of the atom its a great price for beginners starting out you dont need anything else
@DJKlemStudios6 жыл бұрын
I agree about the price of the atom. It's a steal! However, if you're just a producer that makes beats do you think studio one is necessary?
@TrNdke6 жыл бұрын
I think that Studio One's new features in Impact XT and Sample One XT, plus the Chord Track and Harmonic editing features and the very tasty-looking step sequencer would make it especially attractive to beat makers, particularly with the Atom controller available. I haven't used Maschine, but I hear that it's actually a pain to use as a plugin and people have come up with all sorts of workarounds to get what they need out of Maschine and into their DAW. Studio One is indeed a full-fledged DAW and there's no need to buy another piece of software to do serious work.
@CORNERSTOW6 жыл бұрын
Nishidake its very easy to use maschine as a vst in studio one.. i can stem out all 16 pads to separate audio tracks in studio and record with ease
@DJKlemStudios6 жыл бұрын
@@TrNdke the new features are great but in studio one artist you don't get the chord track or harmonic editing... You need to upgrade to professional for that. Also you don't get the library for presence xt in studio one artist.

I’ve been with Studio one from the beginning and upgraded along the way now having 4 pro..and though I so badly wanted the atom because I wanted to make percussion parts without slamming my keys, I was impatient and got the Maschine Mikro because it came out first. All I had with NKS format was Analog strings just cause..well I don’t know why..I’ve been composing for a long time now. Anyways everything happens for a reason, for the comments about “Maschine isn’t a DAW” well...honestly yes, it is basically useless if you don’t use Maschine products It’s smart on their part to not sell it separate for multiple reasons. However, unless you are an ABSOLUTE beginner I think it’s BEYOND silly to think of it like that because of facts stated in this video and the fact that you should NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER buy a piece of hardware without included software being a HUGE influence even advanced, because the bigger you buy..guess what, included software is usually better too...for example the audio box comes with artist and is 100 dollars...but guess how much SO artist costs...seriously do your homework and buy hardware that comes with lite upgradeable software to upgrade...you will need an audio interface more than likely anyways..NI makes the audio 6 which comes with komplete elements and cubase LE...a MILLION pieces come with Ableton lite, so on so forth, Maschine with 20 min if that of your time integrates seamlessly with most DAWs especially considering you can use it as a plugin... Concluding my rant with two things one, Maschine is an amazing way to either perform or put down basic ideas and then export them as wavs to further “nitpick” your composition in a “daw” studio one artist not having 3rd party vst support is on its own reason enough to not be worth your time unless you plan on spending another 300 bucks or something to upgrade to pro...which is amazing, just wish presonus would start listening to user requests like they claim to do when it’s a huge mass request..but anyways the last thing could go one of two ways...holy shite is Maschine a gateway drug..I went from only using eastwest composercloud, best service, and addictive drums..To now owning everything from output (huge sale on completing your collection only like 250 for over 1000 dollars worth of stuff) a used Maschine mk2(130) komplete select($100 dollar upgrade), a KK A61 keyboard, session strings, kinetic toys(don’t suggest libraries from them unless bundled), and an expansion or two because of my evouchers..holy cow should I not have spent that but damn is their stuff good and I make money to justify and have all the tools I need to get ideas down..so..yea..

i think i get your drift. i am a lover of native instruments and think i will go for that anytime. However how come you talked about these two items without showing us the pictures of the features even if you do not have the real gadgets with you? building pictures in our heads sometimes leaves much to be desired.
@kevvvvv016 жыл бұрын
I'm a Studio One Pro user and biased. Presonus' track record for improvements, enhancements and updates is really great. They think up new stuff all the time. I love what they do inc Atom, which I've ordered, awaiting delivery. NI let me down when I bought Maschine V1. They made it redundant very quickly with Maschine V2, which was a disappointment, being stuck with an expensive piece of hardware so quickly.. They also did the same thing with my Komplete Kontrol M25 keyboard. Upgraded and left me with an old model. Maybe this can't be helped. But it's disappointing all the same, especially after such big spends. Additionally I don't care for the Komplete Kontrol software interface. This is a matter of taste. But I feel forced to use it, and never do. It's like wearing a rubber :) Last but not least: I'm hoping Atom will be updatable with firmware downloads. I can't promise this, but Presonus have such a good hardware reputation so I'm trusting them to implement VST recognition reasonably soon. I used to worship NI, and still love Kontakt. But they aren't what they were for me. And they still haven't implemented 4k graphics so Kontakt looks ridiculously tiny on my new monitor. Presonus have never let me down, the way NI have. I know this can be argued, but it's the way I feel. If I really love Atom, then maybe I'll buy two :)
@DJKlemStudios6 жыл бұрын
Well... I can't argue with that. I do think that the atom will be a huge success... Eventually
