@matt cellitti is there a way to do this without using soundflower? i have an rme babyface and i tried using the loopback function but my mk2 doesnt seem to pick up the external audio. is there a way around it without using soundflower? hope you or somebody can help. thanks again for all the tutorials. great stuff

i like how you re-sampeled for each pad instead of slicing, i find it only oneshots the individual samples when i slice it onto the pads, so i will do this from now on to get them into an envelope. thanks!

I use the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 and it has a loop back function built into the software mixer that makes sampling from the net or on your PC real smooth ... it's on the Saffire Pro 24 (new smaller version) as well. Nice post - good work. Any word on whether or not NI is going to add time stretching to Maschine? A yo Knock what up? DMV All day! 1-thousand ...

Sampling Internet -change computer output to soundflower -change Maschine’s “device” to soundflower -press the sampling button, then start Sustained Samples -Maschine: sampling > slice > edit > remove -remove all but 2 or more segments -whole sample: turn knobs under "map" or "slice" -click and drag into Group [My notes on how with help from this tutorial]

yep, try Waves noise suppression plugins or Izotope's RX plugin. Amazing how they reduce pops, hiss, noise, hum etc

Do you ever do time stretching for your samples? How do you judge what the tempo of the track should be if you don't stretch the sample to fit?

@baserocks1 This took me forever to figure out but below the group, in the orange "sound" setting, under the "sampler" tab you will see "voice settings". Just to the left of that there is a little dropdown arrow, click that for other voice options. The second one in the list has an ADSR envelope (pitch/gate/amplitude envelope). You can select the type of envelope under "type": one shot, adsr, etc.

To play a single sample at a time, you can also go into Group category, and set the Polyphony at 1! Then you will also only play 1 ¨pad¨ at a time!

This is all great but the problem here is still the quality of the samples...for example KZbin Videos or other sources. Normally for quality sampling you need min. 320kbps of source, otherwise it will all sound terrible when it gets louder. Whats your opinion?

when I sample a synth note fx and spread it out over several octaves the higher note I play the faster the sample plays, which makes it unuseable. How do I make it stop doing that so it just changse the pitch of the sample and not the speed? Any help is greatly appreciated!

How come the sample that i recorded doesn't play till the end when i press the pad i recorded it on? It just plays lik...the beginning. But when i change the pad so that it holds longer, it plays a little bit longer but still not till the end.

Question: Everytime I use my Maschine MIkro it keeps stalling with a cracking sound. Should I increase my Ram to 16 gigs or Buy a larger hard drive with 7200 rpms?
