When Mike leaved DT i was shook and kinda sad. But hearing all the amazing bands he has participated in, and how i'm loving them, i can say that it was the best thing that could happen to music in this century.
@diegosolis96815 жыл бұрын
@Huracán I don't completely agree with that. The new drummer is not Portnoy, but it's definitely the best after him. And the albums with him all have had examples of a really incredible drumming proese. The Distance Over Time album is really good and Mike's work in it is impecable.
@Insight999995 жыл бұрын
Exactly! The fact that these bands became bigger in terms of prog songwriting and performance with his participation proves also how important he was in Dream Theater, much more than a drummer!
@markkasick5 жыл бұрын
I totally agree.
@markkasick5 жыл бұрын
@@diegosolis9681 the musicianship in DT is exceptional with Mangini, who always was a great drummer (I saw him with Vai in the first G3 tour) but, speaking for myself, I find it totally unispiring and lacking any "groove" for lack of a better word. Listening to DT has become a chore. Almost ever band Portnoy has been in since I have found more enjoyable. I think DT was getting stale when MP was in the band.

That, and also the fact that DT rejected Marco MInnemann and we ended enjoying THE ARISTOCRATS
