Maserati Quattroporte S Q4 Gran Sport Review

The Quattroporte is the flagship model model produced by Maserati. It has been on the Market since 2012. Are minor upgrades like an updated infotainment and a few driver aids enough to keep the Maserati Quattroporte competitive against its rivals?
Yes and no. On the toys and gadget front the Quattroporte is easily outgunned by even lower-end models from competitors. The high weight means that even with a 430hp twin-turbo V6-engine the performance is not going to set your pants on fire. That said, Quattroporte S does handle very well even with the ESP and traction control disabled. This is in part also due to its Q4 all-wheel-drive system. It can send up to 50% of the power to the front wheels, giving the car the necessary grip and making it feel very secure and controllable.
So, while the Maserati Quattroporte S Q4 might not be newest kid on the block, it still manages to be an astonishingly good drive considered its size and weight. And with its quirks and more sensual styling it makes for a more italian alternative in this segment dominated by Germans.

I own a Maserati Ghibli SQ4 GranSport, and love it! After its warranty expires, I plan to update it to a Quattroporte S4Q GranSport. I would prefer a V8 engine, but they do not offer an S4Q version for these models, unfortunately :(

I have a QP GT from 2018. Definetly happier with it than any other German Car. Its fast and handels amazing but its best in highway. Personally dont have any issues Driving it in Geneve or zurich or streets of italy but the size is challangibg for parking. In general, swiss indoor parkings are mostly terrible even two normal cars sometimes brush against each other. The car fits well in all white parking spots.

We saw two soiled Maseratis displayed in front of the Kempinski in St. Moritz last summer. The smiling doormen said they had been driven hard from Germany. They were spattered in road dirt. The hoods were still warm. Well played.

Another great interesting review Sometime back I was lucky enough to drive an almost new one of these Maserati's, on a dealer track day (think V8 with rear wheel drive). Found it fast and such a beautiful exhaust noise, but heavy and oversteer, but that could well have been my poor high speed track driving. Comfortable but not compelling enough for me to contemplate buying. Sorry to appear fussy. More interesting stories please, when you get time.🙏

yeah how is esp&start/stop connected ? a part of the electronic system, when u dont want to be electronically controled during driving, put off esp = put off start/stop ? italian view on 'control' ?

Maybe. I'm not complaining that it turns off in sport mode. I cannot stand Start&Stop anyway.

5.2 meters is too long for Switzerland? Engine is adequate? 0-60 under 5 seconds. Where do they find these knuckleheads? Don’t know why I’m watching this.

haven't driven it. judging by the review this is a good, but highly overpriced car.
