I don't think that I'd ever lube a brand new chain. The stuff that comes on it is better than anything off the shelf.
@Kame5903 жыл бұрын
@@neuvocastezero1838 looks like some sort of cleaner
@DJ60neuf3 жыл бұрын
@@neuvocastezero1838 It depends on the brand. Most brands used to use a heavy packing grease that was very tacky and an absolute dirt magnet. It's more of a preservative for the metal than a lubricant. Some manufacturers have moved away from that type of grease to a lighter lube that you can use out of the package (Shimano moved to this lighter lubricant if I remember correctly, SRAM has not). Regardless of brand, if the new chain feels overly tacky you can use your favorite lube and over-apply it to the chain then give it a thorough wipe down to remove the excess. Your lighter lubricant will combine with the heavier lubricant and help remove it. You can also use a non-water based solvent on a rag.

First time on your channel, thank you for uploading such a beautiful video. You guys work so fast and yet maintain such high-quality workmanship. The detail that you put into the build is amazing and I love them all. How much care is taken with tapping bb shell. I have never seen other videos done it, a very nice move. Not to mention you guys grease the cable and just love the setting you put on all parts, the brake lever moves perfectly as well as other moving parts. I believe that bike is a pleasure to ride. God bless you and two thumbs up to you all.
