Had a ride into masham on the back Sentinel No. 1465 (reg. AW 3321) is one of two surviving examples of the Lightweight Super Sentinel steam wagon. It was built in the early 1940s, but the number/reg came from an earlier Standard wagon built in 1916. This was because WWII restrictions meant wagons couldn't be built from new - so instead, Sentinel 'rebuilt' older wagons, but it's unlikely any parts from the 1916 wagon were used to produce 1465. It had to remain with Sentinel until the wartime restrictions were lifted, after which it was sold to Scientific Roadways Ltd of Shipley, the first of many subsequent owners. It first appeared at a rally in 1958.
