Walmart Bakery Items Ranked From Worst To Best

Those tiny Walmart pies are all crust. They skimped on the filling. I tried all the flavors, so I am not being picky. They have gone up in price too. First thing you see when you walk in the door at our local Walmart. Those skimpy pies scream GREED!!!! Thank you for allowing me to vent!

They Little Birdeye Pies that were out in the 70s were much better! I only tried one of their many pies years ago, and, I have never ate it again! The whole little pie was very off putting!

Yes, they have gone up in price but they are not all bad. Sweet potato and pecan are good. I did find out you cannot eat the pecan pie three months after buying it though.

I went to Walmart about a couple of weeks ago and the bakery clearance rack, they had a mixed berry crumble that was one of the best desserts I’ve eaten in a long time.

Don’t be fooled by the “Baked Freshly Instore” baked in an oven, Yes… but not prepared instore, they are made in a production plant and shipped to your local store to be heated up…

Nope Walmart does not heat them up, they don’t get pre- packaged foods and, take them out of the packaging, those items that are already baked would end up being rock hard! No, that’s left up to the customer who purchases it! They are not allowed to remove items out of the original packaging and, then, put it into the same packaging!

I worked for 15 years for the company that made the dough for Walmart bakeries. They bought the frozen dough for bread, rolls, buns and cookies. They thaw, proof and bake the items. They also bought frozen already baked cake layers. I'm assuming they still do but I don't know from what company. Our bakeries were sold to Pillsbury and then to General Mills who closed all of our locations. This was in 2001.

U know what I really like at Walmart is those cookies that come in a bag of three they're right there before you turn and go to the deli. One of my favorites I always use to get them every time I go to Walmart. Another thing I wanted to say was that y'all did a video a while back about Whole foods and I was too busy to comment on that video that day so I figured I would put it in this one. At Whole foods the one thing I fell in love with is their vegan cookie it's so good, moist, and soft, and let me not for Oh so delicious. 😋🙂 I would buy two at a time because they were so big can't wait to move back to Colorado so I can start back buying them. I am a very easily pleased person. My Walmart favourites are: Fluff Donuts, Iced cinnamon rolls, mini carrot cake sandwich cookies, the cake squares (carrot cake and white cake being my top choices) and the cupcake variety pack. The only cakes I really dislike from Walmart are those other brand of overpriced slices in the reddish packaging that are marketed as something gourmet. They’re quite stale and dry and not a patch on Walmart cakes.

I love the Hershey's chocolate cake bites, ambrosia! And the Berry Streusel Pie is the best pie I ever had. Granted it's next to impossible to cut a distinct slice, but its so good you'll eat the chunks with a spoon (or if nobody's looking, your fingers).

I like the Walmart large soft cookies. The best ones are the peanut butter chocolate chips. I used to buy the cobbler when it was available. It needed to be baked first.

I had to return the apple turn over since I found green mold. Many super markets carry same baking goods like muffins, cup cakes, cookies, pies and it’s so boring. Donuts are terrible, so dry and cheap flavor. Mini pies are worse, too many pie crust not enough filling. Costco’s croissants are the best.

My local Walmart does a terrible job with the "danishes" and cinnamon rolls - too dry, too bland, scant icing. Their cookies are overpriced so I don't even bother with them. Their cheesecake is tasteless. Very bland.

Bought sliced french bread there was large hole throughout loaf no way to make a sandwich. I thought it was a fluke so bought again. Same hole in middle of entire loaf. You can't see it when you pick up loaf as end pieces hide it.

The products come in frozen. The bread is frozen dough. Just like all other grocery store bakeries. Nothing is made fresh, start to finish, in house.

The negative reviews, for anything tbh, because of delivery is a pet peeve of mine…if you’re going to complain over delivery, get it yourself….I know - you’re busy with work, kids, blah blah….I don’t care. I’m not that old, but I remember when there was no delivery service….and I still will get things myself. Stop leaving negative reviews just because you’re not happy with your delivery

All the products you mentioned are not baked in store. Walmart has them shipped frozen and when the products are needed they just put them on the shelves.

No, they are not frozen, they are fully pre- made, they just get set on the shelves and that’s it, Walmart does not have that huge of a bakery staff to do all that! They only have 3 people back in the bakery at the most on one shift and, sometimes it’s just one person and, you usually don’t ever see them for the most part, I am sure on the late night shift and, early morning shift they don’t even come in! They do for the most part custom cakes to order and they might fry up some donuts but, there isn’t really much they do beyond that!

@@sonyafox3271 I work for Walmart a nd I can tell you, that _EVERYTHING_ comes in frozen for the bakery. The frozen bread dough is the only thing takes gets baked. The donuts are warmed in a toaster oven like oven. The sheet cakes are just thawed like everything else. And my store doesn't even have three people working over night. We'd be lucky if one person is scheduled.

All that bakery stuff unless it say backed in store it all comes in frozen and all they do is price it and out it out. Why else do you think it's dry or soggy. This is true about just any grocery store you go to. If you want real bakery goods then go to a bakery or make it yourself.

No, it’s all pre-made, because, they get several shipments during the week and weekends! There not frozen, because, Walmart does not even have a full bakery staff in store, that’s very unrealistic because, they would be doing this around the clock. Walmart at the most might have 3 people working back in the bakery, if that! Heck you never see the bakery staff anymore, the most they might do realistically is fry up some donuts and, do custom cake orders, that’s it! Most of what is in the case by the bakery counter over half of those items weren’t done back in the bakery!

@@sonyafox3271 I don't what Wal mart you shop at or what state you are in but the one I shop at all the stuff comes in frozen. I go in there mid say and you see them opening the boxes and putting them on the table. There is condensation on the plastic boxes and if you feel the bottom of them they are still cold. They were defrosting in the back room. They put them on the tables and on the racks. Sometimes the pies in the boxes are still wet and the bottoms are still cold from being frozen. They don't have a donut fryer in my store so the donuts comes in frozen and all they do is to put them on the shelf. The store by me has the bakery and deli together and there is several people working back there. I used to work in a grocery store bakery 18 years ago and back then the things that weren't made in the store came in frozen even the holiday cookies. We would order the Holiday cookies in July in time for the fall season. Walmart was the first to go using frozen pastry and stuff. The bread that they say is store baked comes in as par baked and all you basically so is to brown them and package them. All the cupcakes and cakes comes in frozen.

Walmart store suck their stores have been going down hill for years if you can find a another store and theirs meats eat at your own risks as for their on line services they will over charge you so make sure if you order on line also some of your self maybe expired leaving having too go in person too get a refund!😢😢😢

The little coconut cakes are the best! And trust and believe they use everything that you're not supposed have😮 I had coconut cake from very good bakeries and still not as good as the one in Walmart" go figure?
