Pineapples are delicious on pizza but ONLY when you also have meat. A three topping pizza with two different kinds of meat plus pineapple is great, but if it's just Pineapples I'd rather have a cheese pizza.
@daltigoth3970
@daltigoth3970 2 жыл бұрын
@@dex4463 I mostly agree with you on this. Pineapple can't be the only topping - it definitely needs to be paired with something that mixes well with the flavor it brings. Ham and bacon go great with pineapple pretty much anytime, and pepperoni usually works with pineapple on pizzas, but most other meats don't really go well with pineapple when combined with cheese and the traditional tomato-based pizza sauce. Chicken works if you replace the tomato sauce with barbecue, and I particularly like that combination if you go easy on the cheese. Or go with no sauce on the crust and give it a drizzle of teriyaki on top - that's good too. Pineapple doesn't strictly need to be paired with meats, though. Bell peppers are a good option, for example, as they bring a smokey sweetness after being cooked that goes great with pineapple. Also, in my personal opinion at least, the pineapple should be from a can and needs to be very well drained before adding it to a pizza. If you are going to use fresh pineapple, cut it into slices and grill it first to cook out some of the juices before adding it to the pizza. You want the juices to be in the pineapple only, not mixed into the cheese and sauce all over the pizza.

Pineapple is not the ONLY make or break for pizza. Anchovies is likely far worse, but many would put mushrooms and even olives in that category. Personally I think things like Pizza, Tex-Mex, and American Chinese that are significantly different that in their native country or not even served in the native country but was "inspired" by their food... like pizza, tacos, and Orange chicken... are 100% American. Otherwise you could argue everything goes back to long before a certain country changed and made popular almost EVERYTHING... Who made the first bread, who used yeast, who used certain grain, who sliced it, who put meat and/or cheese on it, who added the second slice of bread, who toasted it, who added a dressing, who added tomato and lettuce... It can keep going forever. A Philly Steak and Cheese though likely is 100% American.

The weirdest and grossest pizza I have ever seen was made by Chuck E cheese. It was a red sauced cheese pizza with candy corn melted all over it. It's very disappointing that when I go to the grocery store I see frozen pizza priced at the same cost of delivery pizza. I do not believe that frozen pizza should ever cost as much as delivery pizza. The worst part about frozen pizza is the crust. Depending on the company some of the ingredients can be good I guess, but still, it's frozen pizza and will always be subpar compared to delivery pizza. It will never be worth the money these frozen pizza companies charge

The purpose of an oxymoron is to draw focus to conflicting ideas. Purposeful oxymorons aren't something to be avoided (old news, living dead, man child, deep dish pizza... you name it). Facts are assertions about truth. Some previously held facts are proven untrue yet people still believe them to be true. This is why false facts works perfectly for the situation. It emphasizes that this wasn't just a mere assertion, but something that had been and is currently, believed to be true despite clear evidence against it.

Another issue with tomatoes is that every part of the plant except the ripe fruit actually is toxic: tomatoes are part of the nightshade family. Their close relatives, potatoes and eggplant, have similar toxicity in their stems and leaves. The dangerous reputation came from people eating produce that was not fully ripe (and thus still contained toxins) or who had handled the plant and picked up the alkaloids from there and then eating without first washing it off.

Disagree. Pineapple is fine, fish is not for me but okay. But don't put grapes or raisins on a pizza. Don't put soda on a pizza. Any pizza that ice cream would be good on isn't a pizza it's just a disk shaped dessert.

In Sweden the actual regional pizza specialty is Kebab pizza. Yes some pizzas do use bananas. In a typical pizza joint the menus offer over 30 different variations and sadly pepperoni is not one of them....well the pepperoni on pizza in Sweden is not meat, it's a spice like a clove type.

"Pizza is essentially a flatbread crust with topping" doesn't even begin to do it justice. The Greeks were not making Pizza Napoletana, or anything remotely like it, in the 6th Century BC. One might as well say that a Lamborghini Aventador is essentially "a gasoline powered motor vehicle on 4 wheels." That description would also apply to a Ford Model T. Maybe Mashed should stick to covering hot dogs and Chicken Pot Pie...

I love pineapple on my pizza but only if #1 the pineapple must be in juice not syrup, the syrup makes it too sweet and masks the tartness that works well with tomato sauce #2 ham is easily overpowered by pineapple so I use pepperoni, my favorite combo that I call the angry Hawaiian is pepperoni, pineapple, black olives, and jalapeños #3 experiment with different toppings on your pizza, I personally make some of the most inventive pizzas and I get requests from family and friends to make pizza. Keep in mind it's just pizza, if you don't like that combo or topping just order different next time

Ww2 may have made a difference in a different way. My grandfather learned how to make it when he was in the air force at the end of the ww2 era. He was from a little podunk town...I bet a lot of small town soldiers learned about it from the city folk soldiers they served with like my grandfather did

The same could be said about most modern American brands, too. A lot of soldiers discovered Marlboro or lucky strikes cigarettes, m&m and hershey's chocolates, coca cola, and other now iconic brands as parts of their rations, kits and care packages.
