Pineapples are delicious on pizza but ONLY when you also have meat. A three topping pizza with two different kinds of meat plus pineapple is great, but if it's just Pineapples I'd rather have a cheese pizza.
@daltigoth39702 жыл бұрын
@@dex4463 I mostly agree with you on this. Pineapple can't be the only topping - it definitely needs to be paired with something that mixes well with the flavor it brings. Ham and bacon go great with pineapple pretty much anytime, and pepperoni usually works with pineapple on pizzas, but most other meats don't really go well with pineapple when combined with cheese and the traditional tomato-based pizza sauce. Chicken works if you replace the tomato sauce with barbecue, and I particularly like that combination if you go easy on the cheese. Or go with no sauce on the crust and give it a drizzle of teriyaki on top - that's good too. Pineapple doesn't strictly need to be paired with meats, though. Bell peppers are a good option, for example, as they bring a smokey sweetness after being cooked that goes great with pineapple. Also, in my personal opinion at least, the pineapple should be from a can and needs to be very well drained before adding it to a pizza. If you are going to use fresh pineapple, cut it into slices and grill it first to cook out some of the juices before adding it to the pizza. You want the juices to be in the pineapple only, not mixed into the cheese and sauce all over the pizza.

Pineapple is not the ONLY make or break for pizza. Anchovies is likely far worse, but many would put mushrooms and even olives in that category. Personally I think things like Pizza, Tex-Mex, and American Chinese that are significantly different that in their native country or not even served in the native country but was "inspired" by their food... like pizza, tacos, and Orange chicken... are 100% American. Otherwise you could argue everything goes back to long before a certain country changed and made popular almost EVERYTHING... Who made the first bread, who used yeast, who used certain grain, who sliced it, who put meat and/or cheese on it, who added the second slice of bread, who toasted it, who added a dressing, who added tomato and lettuce... It can keep going forever. A Philly Steak and Cheese though likely is 100% American.

I do not believe that frozen pizza should ever cost as much as delivery pizza. The worst part about frozen pizza is the crust. Depending on the company some of the ingredients can be good I guess, but still, it's frozen pizza and will always be subpar compared to delivery pizza. Another issue with tomatoes is that every part of the plant except the ripe fruit actually is toxic: tomatoes are part of the nightshade family. Their close relatives, potatoes and eggplant, have similar toxicity in their stems and leaves. The dangerous reputation came from people eating produce that was not fully ripe (and thus still contained toxins) or who had handled the plant and picked up the alkaloids from there and then eating without first washing it off.

Even though they stated that the soldiers did not bring it back from World War II, you have to admit thanks to the rise of Pizza Hut and Domino’s we now consume a ton of pizza in this country every day and every year. Hell, even as an adult it’s still one of my favorite foods.

I love various pizza. A former coworker ate pizza everyday for many years. She retired several years ago. I hope she's doing well. I often think about her as she was a great coworker.

Pineapple is good on pizza, but it's better with jalapeno than ham.

Best pizza i ever had had stuff i would never think of putting on pizza. Smoked salmon, capers, caviar and sauteed onions... Weird, but delicious.

Pineapple and ham pizzas are a good change from the regular fare. An interesting palate puzzler is a parmesan and dill pickle pizza.

I just commented elsewhere about pickles on pizza. I used to think it sounded gross, but then I had one and it was so good. There was no tomato sauce though, I don't know if those flavours would have been good together.

@@JK-zz4ip yeah, i think there are lots of combos that would be good on pizza. If it looks good, EAT IT!

I always heard the Margherita was made in honor of the Princess, not specifically made FOR her. Seems more likely honestly.

It's hot bread. Put what you want on it. Pizza Tropicana: ham, bacon, pineapple and banana, with extra garlic.
