You can still have them. You just have to make it yourself. I worked there for quite a while and made lots of them. The only real difference is we had a plastic guide to keep everything nice and neat and crimp it when done. All you have to do is: Get some dough. Make it yourself, get it from a mom and pop shop or even WalMart. They sell 16 ounce dough balls there for $1.50 and they aren't bad. I would recommend staying away from that stuff in a can, it's garbage. Get your dough ready by proofing it. Spray a pizza pan and stretch your dough out until it's relatively thin. Now place sliced deli mozzarella cheese (which you can also get at WalMart) on the dough. You want to place it starting from the center of the dough covering half of the dough leaving about an inch or so around the edge of the dough bare. The solid cheese slices will keep the pepperoni from soaking the dough with grease and making it soggy. Place pepperoni on top of the cheese. I think we used to put 9 pieces of pepperoni. I forget. It was a long time ago. Just place them so that they are slightly overlapping. Less is more. That shit is super greasy. Then shred some of the deli cheese and place it over the pepperoni making sure to keep the edge of the dough free of cheese and topping so it will seal properly. Now fold the dough over so both sides meet. Seal the dough by going along the edges with your fingers and/or a fork and pressing down. Brush with garlic butter and cut a slit in the top of the dough vertically7 about 3-4 inched with clean scissors or a knife. Assuming you didn't overload it, bake for about 15 minutes at 350 This will be better and cheaper than the Pizza Hut version. And you can experiment with whatever types of cheeses doughs and toppings you want.

They realized it was costing them way to much in food price to keep going . . ( NOT the Blake's smokehouse BBQ pizza ). It had a spicy sauce and 2 or 3 kinds of pepperoni one of which was thick but smaller than regular pepperoni and a black peppered smoked sausage and black peppered ham and it got bacon on it as well ... and we sprinkled smokehouse seasoning on top .. which was like a smoked paprika , cayenne pepper and some other stuff .... It was soo good .. I used to take 2 personal thin crusts and pile on the toppings for 2 of them onto 1 crust and then put the other crust on top . Making my very own personal pizza pocket !!!

@davidv65882 жыл бұрын
@@lokisgodhi But it was made with thin dough. It has a much lower water content so it comes out nice and crispy. Completely different than the regular pizza dough sold in stores and pizza places. @@davidv6588 The problem with home made pizza is that home ovens do not get any where near the temperature of commercial pizza ovens. which is 800 to 900 degrees F. Home ovens can reach about 500degrees F.
@davidv65882 жыл бұрын
@@lokisgodhi No doubt that is an obstacle if you can't or don't want to buy a pizza oven. Gas ovens can exceed 600. It depends on the oven. But some do top out at 500 or 550, yes. I worked at Pizza Hut. We had a three deck conveyor oven. It was only around 430 degrees. Everything went through for about 7 minutes except garlic bread- which only went halfway through. Each oven is specifically calibrated for the product it cooks at whatever restaurant it's in. Are there some pizza places that I can't replicate 100 percent? Sure. But I make damn good pizza at home. Better than most of the pies you get in stores. Certainly better than the chain pizza places and their plastic cheese. There is almost nothing on Pizza Hut's menu I can't make better at home. It just comes down to how much time a person wants to spend perfecting their techniques and how much they want to spend on tools such as pizza stones, etc. It's just the patience to learn and common sense, like shredding your own cheese, finding a reliable supplier for pizza sauce- the stuff in the grocery stores is gross, all of it. Most people don't want to bother with the hassle. But I love pizza and I like a lot of sauce on mine. Unfortunately, pizza places' idea of extra sauce is a tablespoon or two extra, if any. I got tired of fighting with, pleading and begging these people for a decent amount of sauce. Nothing worked. So I learned how to make great pizza out of necessity.
@lokisgodhi2 жыл бұрын
@@davidv6588 I think the high heat ovens bake and rapidly drive moisture out of the crust making it really crispy. Something that a long baking time at a lower temperature doesn't do. The only way to match at home is if you build a wood fired oven in your backyard. If you're comparing to a chain, a home made pizza likely has better ingredients. I think Pizza Hut is the worst of the big three chains. Papa Johns, Dominos and Pizza Hut. The only thing they had going for them was when they still offered the Priazzo. Which was incredible. But that's been gone for decades now.
