I really liked it! You can still get something similar at some smaller pizza places, typically called "stuffed pizza". I wouldn't recommend ordering more than a slice or two, unless you want to take some leftovers home. It's very filling.

I was a cook at Pizza Hut when they introduced the Priazzo to the menu. We had training classes and got to sample each variety. It was the best thing to ever happen to the hut and it was wildly popular. Business was booming and we were packed full 7 days a week. Greed was why it went away. They claimed it took away from their profits and it was gone. There was no other reason despite what people think,it was just plain old greed. Pizza Hut is garbage nowadays but I do remember when it was great and Priazzo was the king of pizza.

I was at convention in Canada in 2011 and the hotel that I stayed at offered Pizza Hut pizza. At that point most Pizza huts stopped tasting really good, but this hotel made them really well. I told them that they must have not gotten the memo that Pizza Hut sucks now.

I agree with Pizza Hut going bad after 90s cause they changed sauce& dough but I have been hearing they have been changing the recipe and has gotten better. They need to go back to original recipe and bring back the priazzo and be nice to have the tall wooden stain glass booths back in restaurant again like in the 80s

I wish it would come back too. I know however that if it did, it unfortunately wouldn't be the same due to corporate greed which forces the cheapening of the product. Where I live, all of the classic Pizza Hut restaurants have long been closed. There a few Pizza Hut carry-out/delivery stores have opened. I recently went to one and tried what they call "pan pizza" hoping that it would be the same as I remembered. I was very dissapointed. They are just using the once-great Pizza Hut name to sell cheap crap. I really miss the "good old days"..

I was a cook at Pizza Hut in the mid 80's, these were absolutely delicious and popular but an absolute pain in the ass to prep and cook. The managers didn't like it because you had to double the ingredients from a pizza and you had to mix a special dough for it in the mornings, this made a total of 3 doughs, thin crust, pan crust that requires oiling pans and proofing in the fridge and finally the priazzo crust. Then it required special pans that were deep but thin and you had to add a special heating element that you had to push into the pie before cooking and the cheese always stuck to it when removing. They were difficult to clean as well. Pizza hut charged $22 dollars for these back then so I know they made money but the added labor is the real reason along with cooking issues (cold middle) when the ovens got dirty. If they were brought back it would be popular because they are so much different and tasty. Us cooks would (accidentally)😉 make an extra some nights and had no choice but to eat it, couldn't let it go to waste😁

To me it was the best pizza any chain ever made. You can make something similar, but the heat sinks (or heat pins as they called them in the training video) are no longer available. None of the restaurant supply companies have any. The wait time never bothered me. The stuffed crust pizza,, don't like it all. The new Detroit Pan pizza, total fail to us. If they would just make the pan pizza like they did make it, they'd have something. I'd buy that because I can't get a Priazzo, but they don't seem to listen to the customer survey comments. Almost no major food chain today does.

If Pizza Hut only realized that if they used the original ingredients and knew that there’s actually a FB group growing all the time to Bring Back the Priazzo!!! Personally I’m dying for an original Milano! The ‘special equipment’ is a mere Heat Sink. Not a budget buster nor justification for not bringing it back. At their current struggles, it would be SOOOOOOO worth it (as long as they go to the quality of ingredients from those days. Face it, their ingredient quality hasn’t worked for them.

I was working at a Pizza Hut when they first started making the Priazzos. They took a long time for us to make, and took some skill. They needed a special pan and a special heating element that was placed in the middle to help them cook. Those heating elements were covered in non-stick silicone. They worked fine when they were new, but as they aged they started to stick in the Priazzo and messed up the top crust. The cooks hated cleaning those heating elements.

Oh my, Priazzo Napoli. Yes you had to use a knife and fork, to make a bite small enough to lift to your mouth. Those things had to be 1200 calorie a slice. But, worth it!

I made lots of them when i worked at a pizza hut it didn't take 40 minutes to make? It was just 2 pizzas in a deep oan with a spiked heat sink pressed into it before sending it through the oven. All pizzas took the same time to gi thought the oven. Same space. It only took a little longer to assemble.

Pizza Hut is absolutely terrible. The Priazzo was one of their best items, but something happened in the mid 90s. They changed their recipes or something because I have had their food a few times and it is almost inedible.

I remember making those when I worked at the hut. We kept the dough in one large bucket, took what we needed for the priazzo, and leftover after trimming was thrown back in. It needed a metal circular ring with teeth pushed through the top to bring enough heat to the inside to cook it.

The Priazzo was the best thing Pizza Hut ever put forward for customers to enjoy. A Ceasar Salad was the best complement to a slice of a Priazzo. We could manage two meals out of one Priazzo so that when we ordered one I made sure we had enough romaine lettuce in the refrigerator. Pizza Hut gave up on the Priazzo and relatively recently they gave up on their salad bar too. I suppose that they had a business case for doing so but I think some people are still disappointed. The pandemic didn't do the dining-out industry any favors either so a lot of restaurants are still remaking or reimagining themselves.

I worked for Pizza Hut as a youngen and used to hate making these. Not only did it require the special pans, but heat dispersing gadgets on top were required to make sure it cooked in the middle while going through the oven. Removing them was tricky. If it wasn't done right, the top of the pie would get messed up. We often had to send it back through half way even then. That said, it was amazing. I still make my own version of this pie at home.

I worked at Pizza Hut during the priazzo's hay day. It did take longer to cook that was for sure, but it didn't seem like the materials to make it would be all that much more expensive. Just a deep dish pan and then we inserted metal prong in the center of the pizza to help it cook. It had to go through the oven one and a half cycles. I personally missed the prieto, back when Pizza Hut was just so good.

I was the dough master cook at a Pizza Hut in 88-89. I can tell you for a fact that there were no special ingredients. The sauce was the same as the pizza's, the crust was two thin crusts, one on the bottom and one on top and th fillings were the same as went on any pizza. Only thing different was the little gadget you stuck in the middle to help it cook and it cooked in the same oven at the same temp and time as a large pan crust super supreme. Never took us 40 minutes, not even close. Manager would have had a stroke. Pizza Hut got greedy and started chasing profits over quality. Premade dough when I made it by hand every morning, prepackaged toppings, flavorless cheese. Pizza Hut is garbage today compared to the 80's.

I was a teen and we love this. The last time our “group” ate at Pizza Hut was the Fri night we were told they no longer offered that dish. From time to time I still get a PH pie, but only if the pickup window is close. Every other pizza parlor sells the same thing so there is nothing special about Pizza Hut now.

I have talked about the Priazzo for years to everyone. It was the best pizza I ever had. I would take 1st dates there in high school & they would say, "Why are we at pizza hut. After one bite, it was a wrap. There was so much meat inside you that you could only eat two slices, maybe. The next day, it tasted better. I would pay $100 to have that pizza one more time. The Priazzo was discontinued in 1989. I was a cook at Pizza Hut. They didn't use any special sauces or cheese for the Priazzo. It had the same ingredients as the regular pizza.

They are screwing everybody over. Me, my mom, dad and brother. We would get Pizza Hut every weekend. 2 large pizzas is what we would always get. It would feed us that night and we would still have a big portion of the pizza. The next morning we would eat breakfast out of the first box, then the second full box at dinner then breakfast the next day. we can’t feed people like that anymore because they downsize. A manager I had asked this years ago and he explained that yeah two mediums actually make their original large because he used to work in corporate and then he owns his own Pizza Hut store and he said yeah people do get ripped off and it’s not fair.

My parents always ordered the Priazzo but I never liked it since it had so much meat and peppers. The one thing I remembered is there was a point where there was a lot of inconsistency and sometimes it was undercooked. I remember my dad drove back to Pizza Hut after picking up a carryout order to complain about the center being raw. That had to be around 1991 or 1992. We switched to ordering from a local pizza place around that time.

After Priazzo went away, I seldom order at Pizza Hut. If I do, it's just to get something on special or discounted. It's not the same anymore...the flavors and aromas are disappointing. Our whole family would go out to dine-in for Priazzos, ordering salads and beverages...which we never do anymore. Now, my favorite is a mom & pop that prides themselves on their fresh and delicious Italian cuisine and sides.
