My love for The Incredibles cannot be more clearer as a fellow fan makes an Incredibles reference here. Makes sense that an Iron Knuckle suit would be the equivalent of Frozone's super suit..😂❤ you know, if I had a dollar for every time I heard that Incredibles' super suit reference in a Zelda franchise related video, I'd have 2 dollars, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice already for me. I think the armor itself might be the reason for the brainwashing, specifically in Naburo's case atleast. When the other two Iron Knuckles in OoT are defeated, you never see anyone falling out the armor, no Gerudo female or any other brainwashed human. The last Iron Knuckles in the Spirit Temple though is the only one that uses a host to really act. If Naburo was brainwashed even before her imprisonment in the armor then I wonder why she is isn't anymore when we defeat the Iron Knuckles, the armor specifically. If she was brainwashed the whole time then she wouldn't talk to Link like her normal self when she drops out the armor because the source of Naburo's brainwashing, the armor of the Iron Knuckles, is gone.

I think it’s something similar to a Poe, a ghost created by ganon (or twisted spirit of people whichever you believe) and forced to do his bidding like nabooru. If he had control over/power over the dark realm then the events of oot would have been very different. Instead I think that was the beginning of his understanding of multiple dimensions which led into the events of twilight princess. Just my opinion but it would explain what he’s been doing over the course of the adult section of oot. The unexplained gap of activity after he got to the sacred realm and took over the kingdom and the final fight is a bit strange no?

The king referred to is most likely the King from the backstory of Zelda 2. He saw his son was not worthy to have the triforce of courage, so he hid it away, the shards hidden in each of the temples. The warriors in the temples are not evil, simply there to guard the triforce pieces, which is a pretty big deal.

I beleive HE explains that the Adventure of Link's Iron Knuckles were basically honor guards of the former King of Hyrule that continue to serve the King even after death, in this case by testing a potential hero worthy of the Triforce of Courage. And that OOT, the Iron Knuckles are in fact Gerudo (not just the Nabooru one), though whether they are brainwashed or willingly serve Ganon is up for debate. I personally think that it's brainwashing, because in game, one of the carpenters said that apparnelty Nabooru was experimenting with Brainwashing in the Spirit Temple (which we later find out, she herself was brainwashed by Twinrova to serve Ganon's will).

I think since they almost all decided that Ganondorf was definitely their king, that once he became "The King of Evil," some who were chosen to became Iron Knuckles. This would explain why they disappear in the "evil" purple flames, when they die, rather than just the armor falling off, as with Nabooru

At the end of the video you show a Majoras Mask iron knuckle. Notice that it, too, appears to be a Gerudo woman. Termina was supposed to be a parallel world from Hyrule, but we don’t see Gerudo in MM. Twinrova are in MM, but are actually good people. This leads me to believe that the iron knuckle was actually resurrected by the SkullKid wearing the mask, since he can travel between both dimensions as evidence when he meets Link for the first time.

Honestly, I like that idea about the Iron Knuckles. It also makes sense for Zelda 2. In that story, an older generation of the King of Hyrule made the Temples as testing grounds for the next Hero, challenging them to see if they’re worthy of obtaining the Triforce of Courage. Best way to create eternal guardians is to create sentient, iron constructs who could go toe to toe with the strongest of foes. Maybe they found a way to enchant the armor but were able to make them without a host body. This would be at the cost of power since they wield broadswords instead of axes like the more powerful Gerudo type. It would also explain how they’re in Ikana as well. Maybe the kingdom of Ikana were able to find the same formula but accepted the loss of life by stuffing a host body of their female warriors in there. Remember, Ikana went through extreme measure to protect the kingdom. Even if it destroyed the kingdom in happenstance. So the biggest difference is that Darknuts = corrupted people, while Iron Knuckles = corrupted armor

I know it's been a while, and someone's probably mentioned this by now, but the reason for the iron knuckles' hostility in Zelda 2 is the same reason for the monsters' hostility in almost every dungeon from the first two games. In Zelda 1, Princess Zelda broke the Triforce of Wisdom and hid it in the eight dungeons. The bosses, if not all of the monsters in those dungeons, don't work for Ganon, but for Zelda. They exist as guardians for the Triforce to make sure Ganon can't get hold of it. (The only explanation I have for why they're also guarding him in his own dungeon is because it's a videogame and they didn't really think these things through back then.) In Zelda 2, Link is on a quest to find the Triforce of Courage. It's been sealed away in the Great Temple by the old King of Hyrule, the first Zelda's father, to keep it from his son, the Prince. The Great Temple also has a forcefield around it powered by six statues, with six crystals as off switches. The King (the one referenced in the manual, of course) then put in guardians to protect the statues, and those are the bosses you fight. It's also entirely possible the enemies in the palaces are also put there by the King, rather than being Ganon's minions, but that's less directly stated. As for the Iron Knuckles, they were absolutely chosen by the King (of Hyrule, Zelda I's father) as guardians of the palaces, and are thus hostile to Link because they're protecting what he's trying to get at under centuries-old orders, just like all the bosses.

I think the Gerudo male only ever being born once in a hundred years is just an exaggeration. It’s just that the chances of a male Gerudo being produced is so low that you only see one every hundred years or so. General Onox could very well be a Gerudo, but from a different Gerudo tribe.

If Iron Knuckle is a possessed armor, it should have had the ability to move faster. . . unless it has the same issue as spartan armor back at halo. The wearer needed body augmentation in order to handle the spartan armor's powerful joints. So maybe the same case with the iron knuckle. The gerudo host, despite how strong, wouldn't handle the powerful joints of the armor which could be why it moves slow. It just wants to make sure not to break the bones of its host. Now imagine if Iron Knuckle can actually run.

@@BlaxeFrost-X Maybe the Dark World and the Twilight realm are the same, with the difference being Ganondorf's state when he was sealed in it, but Lorule and Termina are not that similar. Lorule's corruption was caused by the lack of a Triforce, while the Dark World's corruption was caused by Ganon getting the Triforce, and Termina doesn't seem to have a triforce. Subrosia and the Dark World may be the same, and the Temple of Seasons appeared to go under the ground when it was sent to Subrosia.

The Triforce could kill him. So why not? It is supposedly all-powerful. In A Link between Worlds it could even create another triforce in another dimension. The thing is, that the Triforce pretty much does whatever it wants. It split on it‘s own in Ocarina of Time because it did not deem Ganondorf as worthy of a wish, leaving him with only power. And it simply disappeared in the end of Wind Waker. And it could be broken into pieces on multiple occasions. The thing is so inconsistent.

That's a logical theory. I do like the connection with Spirit Tracks' "Dark Realm" that you noticed. It's unfortunate, in hindsight, that Spirit Tracks didn't have any Iron Knuckles! The Majora's Mask Iron Knuckles could have the same origin as the OoT ones, if someone from Termina (Majora's Mask itself, perhaps?) was also able bind a demonic soul into a suit of armour.

they come from the OOT Knuckles models where it's implied the Knuckles are just living suits armor worn by the Gerudo (or brainwashed Gerudo which is a can of worms) So yea Gerudian Knuckles at least, are most likely all ladies, cus theyre tailor made to be worn by women

My idea is that they need a host to start working but the host can die inside without the suit falling. Maybe the first 2 times they were already dead and vanished when you defeat them (similar to redeads or other undead enemies)

I like the theory! And I think Termina's Iron Knuckles can be well explained by the theory, too, if you subscribe to idea that "Termina is a real place", that is, rather than just dismissing the world as a fabrication. The Iron Knuckles in Termina are found in only two places, Ikana and the Moon. The latter I believe could be one summoned by Majora (implying that Majora has connections to the Dark Realm, also, although whether that is a deeper connection than, say, Twinrova, is debatable). The former, if we want to consider them the same as these other Iron Knuckles, I think could have been armour summoned by the ancient Ikanans who practiced dark magic, immortal knights tasked with protecting certain important grave sites. As a side theory about the ancient Ikanans, I believe them to be the same as the interlopers who were eventually banished to the Twilight Realm (this theory has explanation, but I won't drag on with that since it's tangential to the point of this comment), so their connection to dark magic similar to Twinrova would be easily explained.

Can you a vid on How the Gerudo women have changed? When you look at them in OoT, they look to be the same size as a Hylian. In BotW however, they are AMAZONS. They may have gotten to that point via genetics and environment.

My money's on the Darknut; not only are they much more nimble and quick striking than Iron Knuckles, but they also have a shield, and when they lose all their armor, they either can use unarmed combat techniques, or carry a Rapier like backup sword they can thrust into a slower moving Iron Knuckle's armor gaps while keeping a decent distance from them.

OoS and OoA take place in the downfall timeline. Twinrova dies in the downfall and adult timelines, so were they resurrected or are they a completely new twinrova? Was that ever explained? Or perhaps those games actually take place in the Child timeline some time after FSA and the ganon we see is the one from FSA or a new incarnation. Can someone please clarify?
