Well, the colours also slightly point to them. Blue, the colour of the sky (also that specific shade of blue was Revali's skin colour I'm pretty sure), and orange, the colour of Death Mountain's lava and the Gorons' skin colour (even though the shades are both a bit off). To me, the air is also a more "flexible" element somehow, so the sleeker arrow makes more sense. Also, the shapes of the arrows are totally different. The Goron symbol is definitely a mountain, while the Rito symbol could be an arrow point! As the Rito are archers by nature, the symbol makes even more sense.

The eighth being most likely Link, who by all accounts disappears/is lost to time in every timeline. Alternatively, this doesn’t defunct the idea that it could be races, too-just that for BOTW, the lore is or was confused about the role of the hero and originally thought him a sage. If they ever were corrected (say, by uncovering the tapestry and tech of the ancient Hylians), they may have removed the statue, or planned a separate one for elsewhere.

First of all: I absolutely loved this theory, and Bandit is definitely one of my favorite Zelda theorists out there. Excellent job, my dude! Secondly: a possible alternate explanation that I can think of would be that the heroines represent great Gerudo leaders from the past. ...where the 8 represents Ganondorf. Forcibly removed from the other leaders. Hidden away. Its symbols and insignia eliminated to cover up their shameful history... Similar to how the Ancient Egyptians tried to erase the pharao Akhenaten from records, because he was so hated by his people. These statues are called the 7 Heroines, so finding an 8th one that looks almost exactly like them... Everyone would assume it was another heroine, no? Not a certain "King"... Probably a stretch, I'm aware, but that's what makes theorizing fun! ❤

@anonymousfellow88793 жыл бұрын
Yes. In Link to the Past there are Seven Maidens (including Zelda) who were sacrificed to revive Beast Ganon (who Link later rescued in the Dark World to gain the power to confront Ganon.) These women are also descended from the Seven Sages (in the English Localizations-seven wisemen is used instead) There are also Seven Sages in A Link Between Worlds-Zelda is not included, not even symbolically. And I don’t recall the number of Sages in Twilight Princess? But there are at least 6 or 7 (including the slain Sage identified as the Sage of Water.) In Windwaker, two more sages are added to the six-no-seven, bringing it to *NINE* In either FourSwords or FourSwordsAdventure (forgive me, I didn’t own a GBA. It might even be both), the Maidens vs Sages return. And I believe it is again Seven. *ANYWAY* Usually the number is Seven, the precedent is NOT Ocarina of Time, *actually* , and the Number Itself isn’t even a strict rule. (not only that? but these sages are different than the ones from ocarina of time. These are from actual bloodlines vs reincarnated souls. @elitegamer93103 жыл бұрын
My theory on the 7 Heroines is that they weren't actually a unified group like the Sages, but rather were legendary Gerudo warriors from across their history. One of the Heroines is said to represent Spirit, and as we know from OoT, the Gerudo Nabooro was the Sage of Spirit. Given her role as a Sage and being a well respected leader amongst the Gerudo, it makes sense that her people created a statue in her honor. Another piece of evidence is that the Heroines don't represent elements, but rather different aspects, or feats. These traits were likely the feats the Gerudo Heroines were best known for, Nabooru being our only example. It wouldn't make much sense for the Heroines to represent the 7, or 8, races of Hyrule when they are all made to look like Gerudo women. The Gorons don't even have any females. As for the 8th statue, my guess is that it's supposed to be Ganondorf or Twinrova.
@shelliblossom8953 Жыл бұрын
That makes more sense except flight which would be a stretch unless one build like a flying machine... I guess it could mean speed... what if the one not done was for urbossa? Skill for her ability to control lightning she wasnt added to the group because the sudden destruction of hyrule made everyone hide and the statue lost in time?
@elitegamer9310 Жыл бұрын
@@shelliblossom8953 The Flight one probably isn't literal, yes. However, I think it might be possible the Heroine of Flight used a Glider of some kind. The Rito aren't far from the Gerudo Desert, and depending on the era of the Heroine of Flight, I think it's fair to say the Heroine of Flight received a Paraglider from the Rito.

My theory is that the heroines are simply a group of legendary gerudo, which is why they are all women and it is in the gerudo desert. The eighth heroine is Ganondorf, but because stories change through time, and male gerudos are rare, he was thought to also be a gerudo woman. This is why the statue is banished to the gerudo highlands, which is the home of GANON'S worshipers, the yiga. Also, the highlands are in the shape of a heroine statue, which I think the ancient yiga were carving in honor of their ruler, ganon.

A lot of the symbols represent a Landmark location where the people live. The Gerudo use Spectacle Rock, hence the two circles. Gorons with Death Mountain Kokiri with the Deku Tree (deku shield symbol/Faron light spirit from TP) Zora's got a Waterfall (motion, also Lanayru the TP light spirit from Lake Hylia/Zora dungeon is a Serpent which could also be a squiggly line) Rito what looks like an 'arrowhead' could actually be an Owl with wings pointed down mid-flight (like the Eldin light spirit - the Rito in WW were on Death Mountain instead of Gorons) That just leaves the Circle and the Two Lines. One has to be Hylians and one for Sheikah. I would argue against the video and say that the Circle is for the Hylians, as the Center of Hyrule, at Hyrule Castle. The Sheikah would be the two lines, representing the Sheikah and the Yiga Clans, both part of one original people.

Another thing to point out is that the one you chose for the Rito is virtually the same shape as the kite shield, which is the Rito shield. It is also very similar to the Rito crest. So it basically further connects the two symbols.

@mitch37753 жыл бұрын
I really think you are on to something, and I think Gentleness and Endurance were spot on, but a couple of symbols don't align well. Taking your theory and expanding: -Sheikah, knowledge, a scroll 📜 -Zora, motion, a water drop. -Gerudo, skill, gold like ring📀. You see this a lot in the games, from Naboorh's forehead gem to the Gerudo Shield. -Hylian, Spirit, the 2 dots. Could represent body & spirit, which would be like the 2 dots inside a ying/yang, a throwback to the medallion of spirit. -Rito, flight, sideways equal sign. It resembles the towers of stone reaching upwards that their city is built on. Also if you want to take it a shady direction: they are not equal to the other races, for they were not given a element or have a sage represent them like the other 6 living races.

Hello, I have a good theory for the eight statues. When Calamity first appeared 10,000 years ago there were eight heroes, one for every race. I believe Ganondorf was one of the eight heroes and he represented the Zonai Tribe. This is pure speculation but I believe Ganondorf's birth parents were the Gerrudo Queen and Zonai King of that time. When the Calamity showed up all the races and tribes gathered together to defeat it. Yet, Ganondorf was injured and corrupted by malice after they defeated the Calamity. The king of Hyrule than saw it as an opportunity to rid himself of Ganondorf and the threath and power the Zonai possesed. The King had Princess Zelda betray the injured Ganondorf by stabbing him in the chest and sealing away his body under Hyrule castle. Than the King had the Sheika use the malice to turn the Zonai into the monsters we all know very well, Bokoblins. . .

At first I thought the sign that was associated with the Zoras was not a wave but a sort of scroll, which I associated with "knowledge" but it does make sense to see it as something flowing! That theory was really cool, great job as always!

OK I've watched a lot of heroine theory videos and this is the only one that I feel actually makes sense, especially with the eight simply being the Zonai who are presumably extinct and therefore removed from the others. Cool theory, I'm totally going to go with this idea unless botw 2 proves it wrong!

Your symbol deciphering is out there imo You support a point you're making about the symbol on the shield looking like the courage vessel or whatever is strong. But to find correlation between it and the red symbol from the heroines and then to base the rest of your theory on that is stretching it Love the theories Looking forward to the next Bout to hit up cwr actually

There are lots of comments saying that there are more than eight races, and you're absolutely right. However, the seven most common races, seen in the vast majority of games are the seven mentioned in the video. I bet the reason Zonal were decided as the eighth major race is because of the many mysteries surrounding them in Breath of the Wild, whilst there's no mention of the lesser-seen races. Personally, I believe that the Zonai were the banished race that became the Twili. That would be a good twist

I love this theory and I think it fits almost perfectly. In my opinion, I think the Gerudo would be better represented by “spirit” (Nabooru, or however you spell it, being the spirit sage in Oot) and I feel that the Hylians would be represented by “Skill.” Maybe because link is skillful or something idk. But that’s just my look on it

What if there used to be a "knights of the round table" where the original Ganon was supposed to be the "King Arthur" but he turned his back on the world in his lust for power, and he was removed from that story, but still included overall. Same as the Zonai removing the Boar statues from all of their ruins, however, remnants still remain in each civilization as a warning carved in stone to future generations?
@Bman32x3 жыл бұрын
I think this version of Ganon is Zonai. To be forgotten, there has to be a further reason they’re basically banished, and the Zonai armor does look slightly reminiscent of the BOTW2 Ganon reveal who seems to be the battery for Hyrule’s energy.

Hi MaskedNintendoBandit, I have to say your theory was quite interesting even if it's not my favorite (my favorite being the one about Midna). I don't really agree with your theory but it mostly because another theorist convinced me before you to be honest. If you're curious, I'm talking about Rinkuto. One his last theories was about those statues and I think it's good (Rinkuto is a french youtuber but his videos have english subtitles). I apologize for not really talking about your video, but know that I think your take on the Heroines Statues is very unique and even if I don't agree it still makes sense. So I guess you just gained another suscriber. Your videos are very good and I hope to see more unique takes like this one on the future ! (I apologize if I made some mistakes, my english isn't as good as my french)

I always thought it was the 7 sages, and the 8th was just the banished Ganondorf. The gerudo being particularly against him would explain why they went out of their way to get rid of it as symbolism
@thedorklord10293 жыл бұрын
I personally think that these are representations of not the races of Hyrule, but more specific sages that we don't know the identity of that are embodiments *of* the Hyrulean races.

I always figured that the eighth was the mother of the current Ganondorf. She decided to keep him as he was her child, but the other Gerudo wanted to get rid of him.

-Uh... 8 races?.... What about the Piccori? -Only 7 is the sages? Are we forgetting the 7 Maidens from LttP. And as Blind hides himself as a maiden, there is the chance the histories were unclear on if there was an 8th lost maiden. -They are each holding a sword, so perhaps they represent warriors of the past? And if the Gerudo carved them, they would likely carve them as females. -Perhaps they represent great spirits or beings? The dragons, leviathans, the wind and thunder spirits from Wind Waker?

Fun lore talk, the eighth statue doesnt have a emblem, cuz they dont exist anymore & with the Gerudo being so close to them, knew what happened. So symbolically, they aim the eighth statue toward hyrule castle to show that they're always taking care of the sealed ganon, but with ages gone, so did the story of how ganon was sealed
