We could build a word class team for years to come while adding bits and pieces to make them even better. But Greenwood needs to be a part of it. He’s now in a wonderful country to raise a family and continue with his career. Sometimes the most distressing of situations can move to a positive outcome. I’m sure he’s under some form of treatment/rehabilitation which I’m certain, like everybody, especially young people are capable of overcoming. At the same time something he would have to embrace and work on for the rest of his life. He is fortunate to be in a position for treatment/rehabilitation other young men may not be. I don’t think a return to Utd would be right for anybody. The level of abuse he’d receive week in week out would be off the charts. Why put yourself and your family through that. Build your life elsewhere. Of course what happened was very disturbing, despite the opportunity to rehabilitate and sections of Utd’s fan base made it known about his potential return. I believe some of the women’s team as well and all this has to be respected. In terms of big clubs, I think Atlético Madrid would be a good fit. Imagine him linking up with Griezmann, Pablo Barrios, Lino, Molina, Memphis, Riquelme, Vermeeren. They’ve got a good mix of experience and now youth coming through with World Cup winners. He’s settling into Spain and Madrid. He also may sign for Getafe (I imagine a reasonable buy out clause would be inserted that suits all parties) Or who knows goes back to them in the final years of his career. Of course in the future a return to England couldn’t be ruled out, but certainly in the medium to long term it would be advisable to build his life and career away which is essentially what he’s doing.

I think the events that transpired has forced him to mature.
