Trouble is "competition for the job" WAS a fabricated FRAUD in '22 Preseason there WERE ample reports from Latrobe(St Vincent's college) Rudolph won the preseason. TROUBLE was Franchise just BOUGHT a pine rider (ex 1st rounder) THEN drafted ANOTHER 1st rounder. If the DRAFT DROOLING would STOP.... better decisions could result! THIS will NEVER happen. NEVER! I hope he is able and willing to stay. He played well yesterday and it definitely was consistent with what we did see in the prior 3 games. The opponent is a Super Bowl contender and some mistakes were made all around plus TJ Watt is an important component that they didn’t have.

Well.....this is how I see this playing out for the QB position for the Steelers sadly.....I think they will let Rudolph sign elsewhere (why is another question as I think he has a lot of potential and is starting to come into his own but thats another story) and then they will go out and sign a more seasoned veteran QB (you know, someone far better than Trubisky, say like Russell Wilson) and keep Pickett as the back up to learn more from the sidelines and scout team.....then once the seasoned veteran either stumbles or decides to hang it up, there little 1st round draft bust will get the nod to take the reigns again for round 2 of trying to be something he isn't......so in the meantime, the Steelers would be able to win with Russell Wilson as their QB...its what happens after he retires or goes elsewhere is the REAL question......as for Rudolph, I wish him all the luck in the world and hope he manages to land a starter spot somewhere else....the dude deserves a chance considering how hard he has had to deal with being marginalized and still bringing the lunch pail to work everyday and trying to get better.....most of these guys just mail it in at that point and try to eek out their 6 years in the league to get their pension and benefits..........

I got no problem with keeping Mason (or Pickett) as a QB2...but let's get real. We're not winning a Super Bowl with either. In an AFC with guys like Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson, you're not going to make a Super Bowl run without a top notch QB. I'm happy for Mason. This year likely extended his career and set him up for millions of dollars more than having no takers in free agency and having to get a job in the real world. So we can all be happy for Mason's NFL career getting a big shot in the arm this year. He'll clearly be QB2 somewhere now, and maybe even fight for QB1 in a few places. But the bottom line is, he ain't in the same league as top NFL QB's, and neither his Pickett. And until we cure THAT problem, we're not getting much better than we are now.
