Omg l didnt realize how chunky Mason is if he missed a meal or two he sure wouldn't starve to death. I guess the chunkier he is the more to love kiss and nibble on. How sweet he is!!!

What a sweet little guy, and adorable ;) I take it you all tried these foods on him many more times before giving up altogether. I notice on these videos parents often project their personal dislikes on to their little ones, mostly when they see them make a funny face (or ten!) Parents immediately start to comment on how their child doesn't like what they are trying--but they are TASTING it, often for the very first time. They are experiencing new flavors, and the sour, sweet, tart and bitter parts of their palate are active for the first time. The faces could be due to their first time tasting something sour, or tart--that doesn't mean they hate green beans--no, they haven't had a chance to form an opinion, on the other hand, WE hate green beans, (avocado, peas, etc....) they're just not used to the new sensations on their tongue. It can take 15 or more times of eating something for a child to decide whether or not they like a particular food. The thing is, if we project our dislikes and biases against certain foods, most often veggies, (I think it went something like, 'I can see we are going to have a problem with veggies in this house'...) at their VERY FIRST TASTING, then we have decided FOR them, and limited their experiences with new foods. This doesn't seem like a big deal, until you realize that this is often the case with ALL of our children's new experiences-including our personal dislikes and biases against certain people, beliefs, cultures, communities... For what it's worth, I guess I just hope that every child is given the chance not only to choose which foods they enjoy, but which people they befriend and things they experience...
