I'm also really glad you appreciate Skypeia. A lot of One Piece fans don't. As for Long Ring Long Land, it's important in its own way. It's my least favorite part of one piece as a whole, but it's also one of the most important moments showing us the power and friendship of Zoro and Sanji as Luffy's right and left hand men, And that their rivalry isn't a true hatred but instead just... a sibling rivalry. It also shows Robin just how far luffy is willing to go for his crew, which is why she wanted so badly to protect them in Enies' Lobby. Any other crew and she would have let them fall like she did so many times in the past but she finally found a crew worthy of protecting, and to do that, she felt she had to give herself up.

@joeboah6040 Жыл бұрын
@@MasonTheCourier I feel the only filler that doesn't stick with the story like AT ALL, is the filler I just skipped(and it is the only one I skipped), I don't want to risk spoiling you but it is in episode 898 or somewhere along there, it just cuts of and teleports the whole crew to some random ass place and makes a new story, if they said that it was a dream of Luffy or something I would have watched it, but they wanted to pass it off as canon. And you might say, maybe it was a filler that took place in that past, but no sir, the characters on the ship during that filler could not have been all at the same time on the same ship after the timeskip, I am really disappointed in the post-timeskip filler, pre-timeskip filler was really good and 1 filler arc even made me cry(it's the warship island arc). I get that everyone hates the relentless death fake-outs in the earlier arcs, but tbh, that is what made us believe that Ace was going to be saved, coz we knew Oda never kills characters. It's a mood that only exists now for people so disconnected that they never got spoiled on that outcome, and I love that the live action is drawing so many people who are indeed this disconnected, and many of them are now starting their own manga/anime journey. And if there's one thing that the entire One Piece community can agree on, it's that more people need to experience this modern epic
@MasonTheCourier Жыл бұрын

Alot of people get hung up on Sanji's pervertness but he never wants to do anything to women other than see them or be around them. His simpness for women is a much bigger personality trait imo, as he will literally do anything for someone he finds beautful even if it's stupid or will hurt him. Also alot of people like to point out the Age 16 thing, but always forget this show wasn't made in the US with western culture in mind where 18 is the start of adulthood because that's when a lot of sexual legal stuff starts coming into play for western culture. Eastern culture and values typically uses the age of 16 as the start of adulthood because that's the time they start prepping for the rest of their lives (typically prepping for university) and their start of adulthood has less sexual connotations to it than you western perverts. Animes take this to the extremes, pretty much anyone not 16 looks like a 10 year old then 1 year passes and they grow 4 feet taller and have massive muscles and facial hair or an overly sexualized body all just to show that they are an adult now.
@denizkaragullu6239 Жыл бұрын
@@KyouOneZilla Sanji is my favorite character but it *is* disturbing to watch some of his pervert scenes, especially post time skip. Spying on women or constantly commenting on how sexy they are is harmful too. I know that it is only a gag so I don't get too hung up on it but it is completely normal for people to feel icky about Sanji while watching One Piece, especially women. Also, cultural differences isn't at play here when it comes to the age difference. One Piece isn't set on modern world. Right now 18 is the age of consent because high school ends at 18. You don't feel like a proper adult until you graduate from high school, even if you become 18 before that. But in fictional worlds like One Piece, a 16 year old person's maturity will vary drastically based on their life experience. Vivi feels even more mature than Zoro tbh because she was raised to be a monarch and that typically makes someone grow up faster even in our own world. Sorry if my comment is hard to read at times, I am not a native English speaker.

I'm about 90% sure that the Alabasta saga fake out deaths were Oda getting cold feet about killing off named people in that part of the story because of his decision to make Robin part of the Straw Hats. She wasn't originally intended to be part of the crew, so I think the deaths in that saga were originally intended to stick, but when Oda realized he wanted Robin for the crew, he felt like he had to dial back some of the damage Baroque Works had caused in order to keep Robin's hands as blood free as possible.
@riatsila144 Жыл бұрын
I think that's a fair point as well. I still feel like, especially Pell and Igaram, I think their living is thematically important as well, even if they were kinda ridiculous. It's so important to Vivi that nobody dies (let's ignore the faceless soldiers lol) and so their survival fulfills her wishes in that regard.
@ItUnidentified Жыл бұрын
Also pells death was around 9/11
@SonGoku-tp8gb Жыл бұрын
In retrospect, Igaram surviving was acceptable. His death would've been the only one directly linked to Robin. Pell should've died, but I think Oda made him live just because of the timing (9/11).
@seanpinette9741 Жыл бұрын
Pell is mainly alive because of 9/11 as others have pointed out.
@MoostachedSaiyanPrince Жыл бұрын
9/11 is not the reason Pell survived the bomb. The chapter Alubarna nearly got blown up in released in November of that year. If Oda was concerned about 9/11 causing backlash towards him or One Piece, he would've not let the bomb go off at all, because he had about two months after 9/11 to divert the outcome to that plot line. He literally could've just left out the bit about the cannon ball bomb also having a timer and that whole issue would've been avoided altogether. Because even if it didn't kill anyone in the story, it's still a bomb in a tower in a heavily populated city, so having it go off at all was a risk for him to take, which he still went through with. As far as I know, the 9/11 thing was never confirmed, and was jus a theory to explain Pell's totally BS level of plot armor here.

I love manga but I also like seeing how things got adapted, and when the pacing gets rough and stretches through some parts you go to the manga or just skip the 15secs of characters just glaring at each other. I understand why One Pace exists but people need to acknowledge that the some of the cuts and the editing on the project it's not perfect. 1000 episodes may be daunting to anyone but when you get into it it passes by so quickly.

The thing about One Pace is that it is a manga project more than an anime project. Essentially they cut everything that isn’t in the manga while not cutting too much to prioritize viewing experience. While many of the old edits of theirs are rough, (Thriller bark, dressrosa, punk hazard) it is perfectly fine for a first time viewing experience, especially for post-timeskip.
@rohanamor4323 Жыл бұрын
You should go for One Pace on post time skip, cuz the episodes are going to stretched out so much they only adapt 1 chapter from the manga per episode. They were aired during the fatigue hardship of the studio while other anime out there are going seasonal, only to get cancelled or straight up filler or just go hiatuses. Except Wano, their artsyle changed significantly and it's worth seeing even if it slow.

At least for me, I was watching the anime until Dressrosa (600 some-odd episodes in iirc) and that's when I switched to one pace that was the arc where the pacing really started having issues (for me at least). one pace cut the runtime down by almost half and Dressrosa became my personal favorite arc in all of one piece.

I respect that this is a review and not a reaction vid. There are good reaction channel but even then, i found the efforts lacking. That the source anime do most of the heavy lifting. This vid has a lot of effort. Didn't waste my time with a single second.

You should make a video of your favorite One Piece villains so far

Lol I'd never watched anime before, then liked the live action so much I had to check out the anime to see what happened next. I then watched about 1000 episodes in 3 months - and now have a tattoo of Luffy and am absolutely hooked. :) (Also, the live action was cool - but it doesn't come close to capturing the true awesomeness of the show).

I stopped on dressrosa arc, it took like ages. I was in luffy x doflamingo final fight, but still, it took so long i got tired. I might try watching with this again. Thanks, didn't know about one pace.

Reading the manga at the same time as watching is the most supiror way to enjoy one piece

I waited until your arc rankings to subscribe because I needed to see Jaya/Skypiea on S before I could sub. Welcome Nakama!

Bruh legit I spent like a month during Covid back in June 2020 to watch One Piece like although the world was in a chaotic state but it was a great time and a great opportunity to watch One Piece. Started on 12th June 2020 and caught up to the updated episode of 920ish on 1st August. I can say watching it was like being part of the journey itself and thanks to episode guides I was able to skip fillers and catch up to it really quick. As a fellow avid fan of One Piece I would like to congratulate you for the dedication that you have put into it to watch the anime. I will be waiting for you at the Wano (P.S it's a reference from a future episode you will know when you find it out)

Your video is pretty good. I think your video's views can increase with a better thumbnail game. The opening clip is really good.

i'm currently watching it too from the start, but i watch the episode like in either 2x or 3x speed (depends on the arc if its filler i'll use the 3x speed ) it made it so much easier to watch, like in an hour i might get 6/7 episode (that's if you skip the opening). i'm at 390 now, kinda slow for the progress since i don't really watch it everyday.

I think I was like you. But I had watched 50+ anime before watching One piece but loved it so much. I laughed, cried and was inspired at some times.
