It's very frustrating for me, Elise main waits a year for a skin of hers and Riot delivers this, without new effects, without recall, without animations... just because the skin is free. It's a huge lack of respect, even more so after watching the new cinematic where she's incredible while in the game she's rubbish. The tendency is only to get worse... I remember that in the Coven skin they didn't even do that many effects on her abilities nor did they put the audio filter on the dubbing... so sad.

I don't get it where's the black rose vibe on this skin ? Like there's literally 0 difference from the base skin other than the splash art ... they could atleast make her W explode in the form of a flourishing black rose (sort a like the withered rose Elise skin but much more darker), or they could make black petals fall on the ground when you rappel ... or something like idk. I understand that this is free (and thank god cuz let's be honest nobody would buy it ... I think) but still it doesn't have to be a copy paste of the base skin 😑 it's disgusting.

There is literally very clear difference from the base skin, not in terms of abilities no, but that is not expected from a 750 skin. Even less for a free skin. There is literally nothing here to complain about. But the skin is free and follows the same principles that have always been the case for these types of skins. I say more of these types of skins, less 1350 skins.

It's just from a costume party in the noxus trailer they released. The party is supposed to be hosted by the black rose, but everyone is dressed up in fancy rich people outfits and masks like a generic masquerade ball instead of black rose attire. They didn't add any unique effects to it or anything because the quality of the skin was an afterthought; the whole point was just to generate hype and connect it to LoL somehow with in-game content. It's Riot's new-age marketing, that's all. They forced Fortiche to include random character appearance changes for EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER in Arcane season 2 just so they could use it to market garbage new skins, a lot like this. This is what Riot does now. They've realized people now like their video content more than their game, so they're trying to use the video content hype to keep people interested in their god-awful gacha game. Also, I feel like it's important to note that this is what's replacing event orbs and hextech chests. Riot-curated garbage skins that we will get for "free," but they will be the only thing possible for us to get for free.

Cool, why don't raise the quality and give shard through the free pass and when coming at the end, all the shard can be exchanged with a skin of our choice, only one. There are several topics involved in the dissatisfaction of a portion of the community regarding this skin. Before anyone tries to dismiss my opinion, I have the right to talk about it, as I have spent a lot of money on this game. Moreover, I've been playing LoL since 2012. It doesn't matter if the skin is for free, it is about: 1- Player's Time and Value: Even free content requires players to invest their time and dedication. Disappointment with an update isn't just about money, it's about the perceived value and respect for the players' time investment. They brought back the concept of a skin below the "epic" type just because it is free content. Of course no one cares about this shitty chroma in game, no one is willing to play with it. The splash art is so gorgeous, it is my favorite of Elise's and my favorite among the others from the same theme. However, it is not worth it using in game. 2- Expectations and Communication: If the company promised something and delivered something else, it's natural for players to feel misled. Transparency and clear communication are crucial for maintaining trust within the community. I'm pretty sure Rioters said some years ago that skins below epic type were not worth it exactly because of the new standard (at least having a different recall interaction). So, why is it okay now? They just want to make skins less accessible while trying to make people buy it. So, "why not giving an ugly chroma to the players?" 3- Impact on Gaming Experience: Updates and content changes affect the overall gaming experience. A good balance between free and paid content is essential to keep players engaged. I speak for myself here. I've spent a lot of money on their content for over a decade, I decided to stop it just because of things like that. It is not right to give me this type of free content after all the money I've spent on them. 4- Community and Feedback: Comments like "if you don't like it, don't use it" ignore the importance of player feedback, which is crucial for the ongoing development of the game. Listening to the community is vital for long-term success. I'm pretty sure things are not going that well on their side, which justifies why they are changing the meta game so much. These decisions are terrible because the paid content is not that good anymore, and the free content is terrible. I won't be susprised if they lower the quality of splash arts from now on, back to 2009 lol's quality to avoid spending money. 5- Emotional Investment: Many players form an emotional bond with the game, investing not just money, but also passion and loyalty. Disappointing changes can negatively affect this relationship and that's basically what is happening. As I said, people like me that actually buy skins and give them money are not happy with how they are dealing with it. It’s not just about this particular skin, but about this new type of free content that, instead of bringing benefits, actually causes harm.

Why not use the design in the cinematic? I first saw this garbo skin and THEN the cinematic; and the difference is like night and day. In the cinematic Elise is a THOUSAND times cooler, albeit being more similar to her classic design. This on the other hand is horrid, especially the spider form lmfao. It would’ve been better if this was a 520 rp skin that kept the spiderlings and the spider form the same as the base Elise.

Now, I don't like taking Riot's defense but I'll play devil advocate just this once. While the resulting skin is undeniably shitty compared to the awesome art it's based on, the aesthetic changes make sense. The clunky golden spider legs may be ugly, but they're far more readable on the model from a gameplay perspective than the spindly black and red ones would have been. As for the spider form, well, the company just can't take the risk to add a realistic looking spider in their roster. Arachnophobia is the most common fear in the world and while the form she takes in the animated sequence is incredibly cool, it's also genuinely creepy for anybody who's afraid of spiders. Having this thing walking around in the game would just be asking to lose players.
