I feel like skinlines like these could be used to "soft-rework" Champions that don't look like they belong to a certain region. Like you could make a Royal Audience or a Ceasefire Treaty skinline in which they dress Jarvin up like a King for once, give Shyvana an Outfit that would look befitting of a Demacian Soldier, have Lux there in some fancy uncomfortable baroque gown and on the other side you could have a Leblanc and/or Cassiopia and/or Draven (being forced to go in Darius' stead, because he's busy) going there as ambassadors of their Nation, and who therefore dress representatively.

As soon as I could, I checked the battle pass and to my surprise there are 2 skins for free. One of which is Elise, so uh, do with that what you will. That said, they changed how the milestones work on champion mastery, so you don't get a botched masterwork chest for free. That would be too much free shit. Instead! you get more battle pass exp. EVERYTHING is tied to that fucking battle pass now. Which makes me so happy!!!!!!!!

In the new Dev blog when Riot says they pick what champs to throw into a skinline based on "what makes sense" and "what fits their character" I couldn't help but roll my eyes at such a blatant lie on a Dev blog lol. They should just be upfront about how they shoehorn popular champs into skinlines they have no business being into because it makes them lots of money. Maybe throw an unpopular champ in there too every now and again to save them from the 1000 day club here and there. I'd respect them more for being honest than treating the playerbase like little kids.

Tbh all the champions on this skinline makes sense. Vladimir and Elise are already members of TBR. Renata is a businesswoman who would love to work with some of the High Noxian Royalty. TBR has shown interest on Ezreal from a long time and he is a traveler who loves to steal magical artefacts. Samira has roots with TBR since Indira, her captain, was a Black Rose member. And Katarina fits perfectly being a secret assassin on the dance

REMEMBER that the Invasion of Ionia hasn't happened yet as the just recently acquired Singed who would play a big back role in the invasion AND the event where Swain acquired Raum. And within the Mask of the Black Rose, Swain ordered Katarina to assassinate someone within the ball and going back to the Katarina comics, Swain asked Katarina to be under his team whereas it would make sense for Swain to order something to her in this condition. And Swain also asked her to be on his team as she would be the only who could stop him if Raum takes over his body.

I really feel like there were better options who could be inducted in the black rose. For some reason the champions that stands out to me is Jhin since he has nothing left to lose at this point. Hwei could be a candidate as well since he doesn't have many skins and there's a chance Hwei embraces that darker part of himself. Zyra's whole plant theme and her ambition of essentially taking over the whole world also fits. I should probably draw these concepts...

Corporate "enshitification" (or the reduction in quality to increase profits) is the inevitable outcome for Riot; if the line can only go up instead of trying to be stable, eventually Riot will have to go the way of Smite and rely on whales to fund their game, except Smite has WAY higher quality skins than whatever Riot is trying to do with their skins. I think if Riot values art, they should focus on story, but they've proven that those aspects of their universe is disposable. Even with Arcane's success, they have an uphill battle to climb with whatever concept of Runeterra they're trying to run with

My first thoughts when I saw this skin line was "why?". I haven't seen arcane and don't keep up with the lore of the game, but from the little I know the Black Rose is a secret noxian org. So I was very confused Ezreal and Samira. Samira less so then Ez cause she's noxian (I know she's from shurima), but Samira doesn't seem like she'd fit in the Black Rose. She's a bit too flashy for what is supposed to be a hush hush clandestine organization.
