That overcharge is really what did it for creator. Most of the yamatos went into a single carrier and it never died.

I feel like Gumiho could have won that if he played more defensively, he still had plenty of resources and could have forced Creator into an awkward fight instead of fighting on home turf. Protoss was getting close to mining out, Terran still had two untouched nodes

Oh, I remembere the fight between Creator and TY with massive battlecrusier and tempest before. Few years later, Golden fleet finally take the avenge to the terran fleet. (But I think that TY really did better then gumiho in this game. )

Gumiho kinda executed it poorly in the last engagement. He should've EMP and then yamato b4 those tempests went to the defensive battery. He didn't yamato, so the engagement was a waste and he still decided to fight at a disadvantage. I think gumiho misread the situation where both were standing and not realizing how big creator's eco was.

Despite Gumiho's mistakes, even when he got cornered like that, he seemed to kept a pretty good position up until he took the last fight. He did the jump, he even did EMPs... and then nothing? Then proceeds to take the fight anyway in Creator's defensive position.

Yeah his Yamatos were really late and I'm not sure what he shot, but it wasn't carriers or tempests, huge waste of the ability imo. The chaff units creator had did their job of soaking damage, especially those void rays that ate so many viking shots since they were closer.

Gumiho would probably have won the final fight, or at least got out about even and stayed in the game, if he Yamato'd properly after Jumping. For some reason there was no Yamato, after several seconds there were a couple Yamatos but still not every BC was doing it at the same time... You need need to Yamato IMMEDIATELY after warping ontop of their fleet, or else it takes the whole point out. Being even 1 second slow actually makes the difference between winning a fight with several BCs leftover vs losing a fight. If you are 2 seconds slow it's even more drastic of a mistake. So it only makes sense Gumiho lost that fight hard. If you Yamato immediately after Jumping though, BCs easily beat Carriers/Tempests. But I'm a Creator fan, so GO CREATOR! Just would have been cool if the game continued even longer X)

Yeah. Yamato is an alpha strike ability, and a damn good one. If well targeted, it can obliterate several protos carriers and tempests within a few seconds of the engagement, and then BCs just obliterate, as you'd expect frontline capital ships to do when faced with combat support vessels and artillery platforms in close combat.

Exactly the same - I have actually never seen skytos win against skyterran at this high level of play. But honestly toss had to do much more effort and combining much more units to be able to win this. 9/10 games as terran you just need to spam BC with some vkiking here and there, dont need to micro much and you still get upper hand when you use yamato at least little bit effectively.

Just for the record, since it's a theme now I've heard in multiple videos, who cares if it's an "old" strategy. The only thing you worry about is the man across from you. If he's using an "old" strat, you still have to see it, recognize it, and defend it. If it works and wins games, it's still a good strat. It doesn't matter if it's fashionable or not.

Skytoss is the most expensive build not just in resources but also in supply. Not to mention how long it takes to build up. Carriers need to build up their interceptors which also drains your minerals. It’s only OP if you let them build up 200/200 and if you fail to stop them before that, you deserve to lose to it.
