I kept seeing things saying that Destroy was the best ending but I can't help but think that all the endings are equally good results for Shepard throwing himself into the fire. (Personally I prefer Synthesis but that may just be because I love EDI.)

In 2017 I played ME3 for the first time and this was the first ending for me. I was shocked and literally cried when Kaidan in gray smiled at me, when Joker said "Damn it". Even without extended DLC ending. It changed my life and this is the best ending for me. Even now when this music is on, I got goosebumps each time. Each time I watch this video my eyes are wet. I was born in 1982 and played so many games. This is the best game ever. Never had this feeling before. I even wrote 1000 words thank-you letter to BioWare.

I wish there was a way of giving Kaidan and Shepard the opportunity of being together...It's so sad T.T Best game I've played so far (and the first in making me cry!!!)

This is the ending and romance I chose because I knew Miranda wouldn't be there even though I romanced her and kept her alive. I once chose Liara. The Control ending felt poetic in some way. It allowed John to remain "alive" but in another way. He ascended true godhood and became a force of greatness. The way he sacrificed himself and his speech from Heaven were emotional and made me sob. Because that's how I see my late friends (I lost seven friends from my early childhood to now, I'm 30) and relatives I've lost : not physically there forever but who will always watch over me wherever I go and as long as I live.

As much as I like happy endings. This one, the cosmic horror one, will always be my favorite.

I did that in my first extended play through. It was my star crossed lovers playthrough, as I called it. I called it that because Shepard damned the universe that he would come back no matter what, even if it meant synthetics were destroyed.

They should find his body in the rubble where his helmet was with him still alive so they can heal him .. It was just his thoughts and brain engrams that were transferred to the AI that controlled the Reapers .. Thus a happy ending for Shepard and Kaidan

I got this ending in the game too, and I'm not ashamed to say it made me go all sentimental. Shepard and Kaiden finding each other in true love and then losing each other so quickly afterwards, I found heart-breaking. I would have sacrificed the whole universe in order to get the two back together again, like homunculus7. Kaidan's image while Shepard clutches the machiney, followed by Kaidan putting up that plaque, still moves me every time I watch it. Bioware set this up brilliantly...

For me this is the saddest ending. The feeling that you can feel the presence of the one you love but can't touch him/her, plus the fact that the one you love does not know you still lives.. It is horrible. More horrible than in synthesis where Shepard really dies, in destroy where Shepard may lives, and in refusal where Shepard only follows his pride. Great job BioWare :).

The energy pulse should not have caught up with the Normandy .. It had a head start.. the energy pulse and the Normandy both travel thru the FTL tunnel at the same speed so the energy pulse should not have caught up to them

"Perfect Destroy" and "Control" are the only good endings. They are the saddest ones overall. I love the Mass Effect trilogy.

No matter how paragon the Shepard is, I can't help but feel that with the control ending- Shepard is always indoctrinated. I don't know if it's just because I'm interpreting his words differently or because I simply don't believe what he is saying to us at the end 😂

It's from a DLC. Bioware release extra cut scenes because of the complaints and confusion of the fans.

I don't like this ending! I like the ending where he hesitates to put the plack on the wall because it gives me the impression Shepard is still alive.
